What convinced you that Evolution is the truth?

Excuse me: if a Catholic believes in Jesus's resurrection, why shouldn't they believe in Mary's perpetual virginity too?
Why do you think they should believe one thing and not the other?
It doesn't make any sense. ;)
Catholicism as a whole already doesn't make any sense.
So wheter or not people believe in one specific aspect of it, is not going to make much difference sense-wise.

Catholicism doesn't and will not deal with Science, and with the origin of species.
It has never claimed they possess the absolute Truth on how we humans came to being...and as I vividly remember, my priest told me that Adam and Eve, the Creation, the Fall are all allegories. Tales.

In the history of catholicism, that is a rather recent development.
Catholicism is much more then just it's stance on modern biology.

The Lost One
Because people won't read apocrypha.
In the Gospel of James, James says that he and other siblings are children of Joseph and his first wife.

I am aware of this gospel, but are you aware that the Gospel of James was most likely originally composed in the later half of the 2nd century BCE.

The gospel may have been attributed to the brother of Jesus, James, as the author, but it was certainly not written by him. The real author is still unknown.

The author doesn't matter.
It matters that he says that Jesus' brothers and sisters are actually step-brothers and step-sisters.
First wedlock.

Perfect. But I am interested in your stance. Do you consider this theory probable, highly probable or unlikely? And why.
;)
Simply the overwhelming evidence for evolution is supported by every major university and 95% of all the scientists in the scientific fields related to evolution. There is absolutely no scientific alternate theory to explain the evidence.

Can you propose an alternative theory that explains the evidence for evolution?

Common sense convinced me of its truth. It makes sense that species evolve through generations. The simplicity of the theory was appealing.

You do know that evolutionary theory has progressed beyond Darwin, right?
Some people's minds remain inert stuck in ancient past paradigms.
