Funny, when I look up the definition of a coup: a sudden, violent, and unlawful seizure of power from a government - it doesn't mention the military as such.
And Jan 6th matches that as an attempted coup that failed,

Well you could then add and fill me in as to the logistics and command and control structure that a proper coup requires.
Apparently I am missing the latter.

Yeah look at history. Coups generally have military backing them or some kind of militia or the police. It's just not that difficult.

You do not seem to understand crimes and punishment. If a person robs a bank with a fake gun he is still guilty of "armed robbery". Trump is and idiot. You know that, I know that. He used an incompetent militia to try to accomplish his goals. It failed. That does not excuse him of the crime.

They were trying to seize control over the process of appointing the next president. I didn't say they succeed, it was an attempted coup.

Oh my, you do not seem to understand it does not matter if they were loons and idiots or not. They were still an organized mob sent there by Trump. Pointing at how pathetic they were does not help you. It only reinforces the claim that Trump was an incompetent idiot.

Ability has nothing to do with it. People still died as a result of this. If a competent person had done this they may have succeeded. You do not get to reward a person for being an idiot.

What I'm paying attention to is the people thinking they're going to be right.
But hey , that can include myself as well. Only one way to find out who is right or wrong and that is by virtue of time.

Even you know that you are wrong. You have been corrected on this before, that you leave out a very important qualifier tells us that you know how you are wrong. It was an attempted coup.
