Then if you can't prove it don't quote scriptures to make your point!!!

Well just feel free to tell us how you really feel....o_O

Who are you?....a newby with a bad attitude? Oh great...another one.

and if you could prove the bible is true you would still need faith that it works for the year 2019,and I guess there aren't to many true Christians in the world, because Love is far from the way Christians are to those of us who don't believe in your Bible or Christianity

Excuse me, but you don't even know me or the Christianity I profess. I actually agree with you on that point....you are right, there aren't too many true Christians in the world.
What passes for "Christianity" today, as practiced by Christendom, is a far cry from the original.
However, the Bible's moral principles work just as well today as they always have....since when is the Golden Rule something to complain about? Its the ones who don't practice what Jesus preached that are the problem. Its called hypocrisy....God hates it. Sounds like you do too.

also you always talk about the good stuff someone wrote in the bible!! what about the orders to kill certain people, stone some people, throw some in hell, drown everyone except one family, one who judges people and punishes people , send plagues on people to suffer and die ,what about the treatment of women and the list goes on and on!! so I guess since you totally accept this violence that is in the bible you must agree it was needed

Short sighted and uninformed opinions seldom tell the whole truth. Twisted half truths work so much better for some people....fuels their fire so effectively. There are good reasons for some of the things that you have mentioned, but the rest is hogwash. You don't want to understand, so I won't waste time explaining.

whew!! If that's the Love Christians have, I don't want it!!!! nor need it, and if the version in the bible of Your true God is true.No thanks, I'll stick with not believing those words wrote by man in the bible and honoring the Creator I believe in the one who loves and accepts me just as I am and the one who doesn't want me following what others say but wants me to seek and believe in him for myself and that I know he could never be as the bible says he is!!!

As you wish.....funny, but your god sounds just like you...... :)

I wish you all the best...

We are as one I am God and God is me. so you are right!! and you don't have to wish me the best, I already have and live the best. and I am far from a newbie, I use to be a"christian" for 23 years going to church each Sunday and reading them scriptures ,but once I realized that there is a reason I never agreed with the bible and I found fault in a lot of Christianity, and finally I said enough is enough,I am miserably staying in this faith so I got out and started learning real spirituality and who God is for myself and learned to him and guide me to a better place in him, and he did just that, and I am so much happier and satisfied then I ever was in the faith "Disciples of Christ" and no I don't have a attitude at all, I guess cause someone doesn't agree with you and your version of Christianity they are seen as having an attitude. I speak my mind just as you speak yours.Very typical of your kind,to think the way you do, so I overlook it.

No that wouldn't mean Jesus and or Paul I'm referring to "Christianity" as a way of religion here on earth, that human beings started!! Not in the bible!!

Christianity is the religion that actually is based on the birth, life, death, resurrection and teaching of Jesus Christ, from the bible. Christianity began in the 1st century AD after Jesus died as a Jewish sect in Judea but quickly spread throughout the Roman empire, and that they made up there own Doctrine, and ways and rules that was very dark in the beginning.

The constant persecution we have to endure for being righteous, when will it ever end?

The Bible is an amazing book, not only because of how long it has survived but because of prophesy being fulfilled right now, and the hope it gives for the future, especially when things look grim.
Sure it has rules, but those who have hearts aligned to God's don't have a problem with them.

The problem as I see it is, because humans have distorted the meaning of what the Bible teaches, God reveals his truth only to those who are genuine seekers. He knows who they are. No one comes to a knowledge of God through his Christ without an invitation from the Father. (John 6:65)

Humans also have an innate selfishness that leads them to want only their own way....if their way conflicts with God's way, they will ditch his before they ever ditch their own. That in itself speaks volumes about who they worship....usually themselves.

You have to make allowance for the fact that God is all knowing and can see into the future as easily as we see the events of today. He knows where to intervene and when not to in the case of those who are seeking the truth.
The condition of the heart....willingness to be taught, even things that you might not want to know or hear....the propensity to accede to God's will at the sacrifice of your own...all contribute to how God sees us and how that will affect our future. We tell God who we are without uttering a word.

If the god you want to exist is merely a reflection of yourself, then there is your god. There is no room for the true God in such a person.

No one can "prove" that the Bible is true. If it was all provable, we would need no faith.....but faith, hope and love is what true Christianity is all about. How that faith, hope and love is expressed speaks volumes about where our heart is.

Okay , then you should start each post with:" I have faith that the bible is true because there is no way of proving, but I believe this to be :

give good things to his children. ... in order to become a child of God, John 1:12 you must receive his son
If you become a child of God ... it will be because God first sought and drew you to his Son ... John 6:37
ther is no salvation in any other name ... Acts 4:12
in order to 'find peace within' you must first make peace with God ... via his son

don't forget the story of The prodigal son < indeed I won't

the story of the Shepherd leaving the 99 sheep in search of the one sheep that went astray < Matthew 18:12

then he's not going to burn someone in hell for not believing in an unseen entity < tragic - no need to go there

Well someone needs to find the men who wrote the story of all stories (the bible) and tell them.

I don't believe I have to go via God's son Jesus to communicate with God, I go directly to him,and he reply's back to me all the time. That scripture among others don't make any sense to me at all.

"I like your Christ. I do not like your christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
-- Mahatma Gandhi. (apocryphal)

Christianity makes a wonderful slave religion. Disdain wealth and prosperity. Be humble, harmless and helpful. Obey your masters. Your reward will be in heaven, after death.

It is Christianity - not any other religion or ideology - that has transformed the world.

Jesus of the bible I think is a very lovable character. Although highly unlikely that the things attributed to Jesus in the scriptures really happened, since it's stories passed down verbally for generations until written down.

Paul turned Jesus into Christ and invented the Christian religion.

Jesus claimed to be the Christ (see Matthew 16:15-17) - and indeed is so.

Jesus said: "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will last for ever."

It was Jesus, in fact, who "invented" the Christian religion.

And since when is oral history less reliable than written history ?

Not to take away from the ongoing conversation, there's been some interesting answers on this topic already. I just think looking at the hatred towards, or at the very least the detesting of, specific things with regards to Christianity ignores the bigger picture. In my opinion, the hypocrisy, the treatment of women as second class citizens or even property, the historical inaccuracies, the contradictions, the stealing of stories from other religions and belief systems, the killing and torture of non-Christians, the outright lies, the pompous spending on $90 million+ churches, the peddling of bronze age fairy tales as historical fact, and so many other major issues speak for themselves. The bigger picture is how unnecessary religion is as a whole. If for no other reason, of which there are many, that it goes against Occam's Razor, and probably should be categorized under something like Henlon's Razor because that's basically more appropriate. A creator isn't necessary, even for arguments of moral authority. To say that people would have no morals if religion didn't exist is to ignore the millions and millions of people who live perfectly moral lives without it. I think it was Mark Twain who said, the best cure for Christianity is to read the bible.

"Perfectly moral lives without Christianity" - you mean respectable, calculating, sensible, law-abiding lives.

Since kindly, helpful people are even rarer outside Christianity than within it.

You doubt this ? - ask any person who is poor or burdened, and they will confirm it.

While I can't say that I hate Christianity (it's far too broad a spectrum for that) this is a major point of contention for me. I'm aware that this isn't something that all Christians believe and that Hell is by no means exclusive to Christianity. For those who do believe in it though, It's a concept that strikes me as utterly sadistic.

The idea of eternal suffering is horrific beyond expression. To couple that with the idea of an entirely good god and the righteousness of such a punishment is downright dangerous. Putting aside the staggering mental gymnastics and excuses required to reconcile those two beliefs, holding that burning somebody forever is justified means that there are no limits to what can be done to a person. Any and all torture, coercion, bigotry and political manipulation can be justified by the claim that it's all in the name of saving souls.

Eternal hell makes God a monster and permits his followers to perform monstrous acts in his name.

If God sent people to Hell, what you say would be correct.

But He doesn't - people go to Hell (and stubbornly remain there) in order to be eternally evil.

The fires of Hell come from inside the evil hearts of the local inhabitants.

Balderdash.
Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Buddhism -- Lots of religions have had major impacts.

But only Christianity has transformed the world.

E.g. modern Science and the concept of Progress are by-products of the Judaeo-Christian tradition and of that alone.

Hasn't Christianity always opposed science? Critical thinking endangers religion.

No, it is the combination of Greek, Roman and Judaeo-Christian tradition. Democracy e.g. is not Christian, it is Greek.

Christianity? Better than some religions, worse than others. Its not the religion but some of the religious i have issues with. Judgement of difference, their way is better than yours, the claim to morality, loathing of science and the hypocrisy, the heard instinct and child indoctrination all bug me. Religion should be above that.

All political and religious groups believe their way is the best.

All parents instruct their children - and have a duty to do so.

Christianity invented modern science - the Scientific Revolution of the 17th century was led by Christians and could have arisen only in a Christian civilisation.

Not to mention, and I may be wrong, for every different doctrine/interpretation on hell, there are "seemingly" Bible verses that can back it up.

So which interpretation is correct ?

That's why you need the Catholic Church to act as umpire and authority.

Protestantism melts down into n-thousand groups.
