What do you think of BC and AD terms for years?

Do most folks really hump on Wines-day?
I thought that "Wine giveth the desire and taketh away the ability" or something like that.
It's an employee thing....getting over the hump in the middle of the work week.
Not as much fun as you thought, eh?

If you are not a Christian what do you think of them? How were they made? How did they know when Jesus was born (if a Jesus was born) and when Jesus died when he didn't exist?

This has confused me. I think there may have been a person named Jesus but just another prophet, not a god or a man who has done miracles.

I won't use them. I use BCE and CE. I don't care when Jesus was born or whatever. He's just another nice Jewish boy the Romans killed. No reason he should have anything to do with the calendar, or any other aspects of my daily life.

As you know, BC means before Christ. Since we don't believe that Jesus was Christ, we say BCE, which means before common era. And with regards to AD, it mean Annus Domini, which means the year of our Lord. Since we don't believe Jesus was our Lord, we say ACE, which means after common era. I too believe that there was a person called Jesus, he was not God because there is no such a thing as Greek Mythology in Judaism, and even a prophet he was not because the prophets ended with the return of the Jews from Babylon. And for the miracles, there is always a way for them to be explained naturally.

Did anyone mention this yet...Christian or not, I use the designations C.E. and B.C.E. That corresponds to Common Era and Before the Common Era. I have seen this more and more in common usage. It allows us to use the year numbering system here in the West without the inaccurate Anno Domini and Before Christ designations.

OK. Didn;t see that when I posted. But I see C.E. being used quite a bit. I have never seen ACE used - since we are not yet past the Common Era - yet -I can understand that....
