What Does the Five Pointed Star Mean to You?

Salvador

RF's Swedenborgian
I've seen the five pointed star used in several applications with regard to religion or practice, from the five wounds of Christ in Christianity (many in the south adorn their house with one), to the elements in Neo-Paganism (the pentagram), to the five points of felicity in Freemasonry (also the pentagram), to Sigil of Baphomet in the Church of Satan.

A star fish. We humans and star fish descended from a common Deuterostomes urbilaterian ancestor ca. 600 million years ago.

Can you see the stark resemblance this fossilized animal has with both starfish and humans?

Has anyone ever gotten tracers from an LED light? Maybe that's what stars represent... Tracers.

TIP:
If your ising a cell phone, scroll up and down real fast with your thumb while looking at the 17 pointed sun star, and see if you don't get tracers. :)

I am a Solitary Eclectic Witch and we use the 5 pointed star we call the pentagram is our symbol it stands for Spirit and the 4 elements;Air,water, fire & earth it is telling that the Spirit surmounts the elements which we are nature based and if we draw a circle around the whole pentagram called the pentacle it symbolizes unity of humanity to spirit, protection and wholeness. It is also a symbol to promote personal power and As a magickal device, whether invoking or banishing. It has nothing to do with the devil, Christianity,Satanism or the medieval madness of the Inquisitions all that came later on.

As a kid I remember being told if you cut an apple in half it makes a 5-point star and that is why the un-named forbidden fruit in Eden ended up being called an apple. (?)

While true, if cut sideways, I think the correlation is wrong since the "forbidden fruit" in Eden, which probably never existed, would be a pomegranate.

In my tradition, it represents one of the Mysteries, specifically that of Quintessence. It is usually not used stand-alone, but placed in the center of the sacred symbol of my path, which is an encircled equal-armed cross.

To me, it is the Macro and Microcosm of Self. It is the human person in relation to the rest of the universe. I see it in very similar terms as the cross.
