I believe for most people Evil is a word used when people believe the bad thing that happened is beyond normal human ability. Usually caused by the supernatural or mental illness and otherwise normal humans would never do.
For my part I hate the use of Evil to define humans doing bad or wrong things, it gives them an out. I believe Good, Bad, Right and Wrong are all we need to define circumstances. Yes, we also have the term neutral, and you may use it but somebody will frame that neutral position as Good, Bad, Right or Wrong.
