What Face Does Satan Wear?

I think that most people have a vision of Satan as one who goes around with a red hot pitchfork jabbing it into pregnant women. If only Satan could be that good. This is the picture that Satan wishes to present. It is not the true picture. Many, I would imagine, have a picture of Satan in their minds as one with a horrible red face with horns coming out of his head, holding this red hot glowing pitchfork, with a sardonic grin, and flames coming up all around, standing there waiting for some poor sinner to show up so he can torture them forever. Yes, only if he could be so good. The real face that Satan wears is the one of Jesus! Remember that deception is what Satan is all about. If Satan can convince you that he is Jesus, then you are going to believe what he teaches. We all have a picture of Jesus in our minds: what he looks like, what he believes, what he teaches, what he wants you to believe, what he wants you to do, etc., etc. The problem is that if someone comes along that does not "fit the picture" then we do not believe it is Jesus. This is what happened to Jesus when he came the last time, he just did not "fit the picture" so they nailed him to a cross and murdered him. Now if you are deceived by Satan, and you believe all the lies, then when Satan comes along looking like Jesus, you will be following that guy off to "Deception Land." The deceivers don't come along saying they are Satan, no no, they say they are Jesus. "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Saint Matthew 24:5

I'll know when it's really Jesus because a bunch of old republicans, fundamentalist christians and Trump supporters will be trying to kill him. Satan will have no semblance if piety and everyone around him will be laughing drinking drugging having sex, with heavy metal playing LOUD and you would swear they are happy, but for their "hungry eyes". That always gives the minion sycophants away even when no other external signs are visible.
I'm a science guy and i really don't believe in this stuff, but it's kind of fun to imagine based upon what i see in everyday life.

I imagine a vast expanse of black, like space but with no stars. I imagine streams of bright, vivid red light and energy pulsating and vibrating, distorting reality around it, taking all manner of shapes, with darkness from the black expanse moving together with the red in a terrifying rhythmic harmony, beyond comprehension.

He looks like all the other angels, I would imagine.

Just look at the eyes. No matter what the appearance, the eyes will always give a "Satan" away. Learn what eye language looks like and what "Affect" is. It's always a tell and life is not a poker game. Using a false affect takes more energy to maintain and you will see that draw as a detriment in some other area of interaction. A real Satan would be no more able to hide it than a regular person to any trained observer.

I once bore witness to a sermon given by the church pastor's wife in which she told a story of how she felt very strongly that God was directing her to do missionary work abroad - which would include travel, being away from family and friends, large amounts of expense involved. She said she wrestled with the idea for over a year (likely more that she was wrestling with her husband, who knew their finances couldn't survive the endeavor - for their church was, at the time, young and severely limited.

She said she finally came to realize that it wasn't the voice of God that was urging her, but the voice of Satan! (gasp)

The thought occurred to me that this was one of the scariest things I could imagine. Being urged to do something by a voice, but to be unable to tell if that voice was friend or foe. And I was glad that I do not hear voices - glad that I wasn't among those who deceive themselves into thinking they are hearing such voices. Glad I am not as foolish as the woman I saw before me that day. She, of course, was oblivious to how terribly crazy she sounded to a rational mind, and was very likely consoled by the fact that her story fell on the minds of others of the congregation who proudly held that same sort of irrationality - wearing it as if it were some badge of honor - agreeing with her that her situation was a harrowing one, glad that she mad the right decision and made it through okay - and all the while proving their belief and acceptance of her wild, unsubstantiated claims... proving themselves just as irrational and deluded. Way to go church-goers. Stay classy.

As a young man, I was walking down a street on a military base when I saw a light coming from an open door next to the sidewalk. Being curious. I stepped inside and saw a scary V shaped face with a translucent appearance in a wall mirror by the door, it had a long stretched jaw with dark eyes and a small mouth. It was Lucifer The shape of the face resembled a photograph taken of smoke from the 9-11 attack on the world-trade center building.

In Job, it was not Satan but God who brought up Job. God, not Satan had the first and last word
so... I would say the face of a minor character in the Bible And Satan was the one who was silenced

In Psalm 119 the wicked 'steps in the house and steps out quickly' not a main focus
In Romans, it is only in the last verses that Satan is mentioned where 'God will crush Satan under the feet of believers'

The strange case of Job, poster child of the proverbially wise

Satan's purpose is to bring people in temptation. so his image changes according to the temptation God instructed Satan to bring to a human. for example, God wants to test a human on lust. so He orders Satan to approach that human in the form of an attractive woman. Satan will take the form of Jesus, if God wants to test who are the true believers of Jesus and God.

Jesus told Peter 'get behind me Satan' when Peter told Jesus he would never die on a cross
So, yes, temptation wears many faces.

The truth is that Satan is a personification of the Judaic word ha-satan meaning Adversary. Ha satan did not become Satan until much later when Jewish sects / tribes particularly the Essenes began referring to anyone who was not an Essene as ha satan. Still further on, the Roman Christian Church decided it was time to personify "the adversary" into Satan (complete with Pagan Pan horns and tail, colored Egyptian Set red, and all that jazz) and have him become the scapegoat for all evil in the Christian world.
