What I dislike about some of the posting habits here

Not only here, but anywhere - putting words into my cyber mouth that I never 'said,' and then wanting me to defend them. I just don't even bother anymore to engage when I see it happening.

Aye, that is an annoying thing to endure.
Typically, I just call'm on it.
Then if they want to address my actual post, we continue.

[QUO"Quintessence, post: 4528814, member: 32163"]There's really only one thing, and that's violating basic grammar and composition rules. That is a good way to keep me from bothering to read your post at all. [/QUOTE]
Eye wll keyp that inn mind.

Using the posting style that I invented: Black paragraphs with sentences, phrases or scripture verses put into various colors. Yes, I am the father of bad highlighting. On the bright side I'm famous, so you know a famous person.

Share your gripe, but no names or other identifying remarks please.

Mine:
People who don't identify the person or post they're replying to when it isn't immediately apparent. If you can't use the quote function then at least address your comment.

My all time annoyance. Using exclusions to bypass the actual question and/or point of the OP.

Example: If you were god, how would people descibe you?

Answer: but I dont care
Answer: I wouldnt be god so it doesnt matter

If the OP doesnt apply and you cant think hypothetically for a debate, why reply? One can talk intelligently about a god one disbelieves in.

Second one: Answering posts with the definitions that are not what the OP actually posted.

Another: Getting defensive because I cant define everyone in a single post. No one fits in a box. Words are limited. Use the thesaurus for synm. Look at context. Or dont bother with the OP. Its just a question.

Oh: Using chopped up sentences for a post that looks like fragmented poetry. Hard to find the point.

People who question my intelligence over a word I tell them I never use hence dont understand. Hiding their argument by belittlement.

Another: Debating symantics

I don't care much for grammar and things, but what really bugs me is a specific users posts on this forum.

Generally, half of their post is capitalized and underlined, defeating the purpose of doing either of those things, and they make a thread tackling the same issue which literally no one argues with every month or so.

I think we all know who I'm talking about, so I will leave their name out of it :p

The general peeves of mine are:
-Changing colors in a post without purpose.
-Changing fonts in a post without purpose.
-People straight up not correcting a word that was caught by spellcheck. I don't mind when its chat or its a typo but when someone blatantly types a word they can't spell correctly and don't bother correcting it.
-People who make lists.

Em. Dont know about others. I usually do that so people can keep up with my long posts if they feel like reading it.

Ooooohh another I dislike! Replying to the OP as if the OPist is speaking for himself even though the OP doesnt say that.

Example

Q: Is god real?

A: Just pray (or whatever) and you will find who god is.

What, its not about me. I didnt put myself in this equation.

Reading behind questions that are not meant to have deep meaning behind it.

Reading into something too much.

I see it in posts that ask about faiths as if asking automatically assumes the asker (I know, bad grammer), wants to find answers to "his" life's questions rather than just answering the question itself.

Personally I don't how people make their OP titles look like news headlines. I dunno maybe it's irrational, it just annoys me.

Honestly, IF YOU'SE GoInG to call me out, then gust call me OUT. My problems with you post are such;
  • Talking about me without using my name
  • Not respecting my ability to colour code my posts based on emotional content
  • Not acknowledging that I can use bold and capitals to add aesthetics to any post
If I spellified things wrong here, then BAD LUCK BUDDY! I don't have time to waste fixing up mistakes just so you can read basic English.

:p

Or people who phrase their title like they are in support of something, then just bash it or ask someone to explain it.
Titles that are "bipolar" to the post, for lack of a better word.

Yes! I think sometimes they are trying to suck people who don't agree with them into reading it. Like an ad... smh

My only gripe is inappropriate use of the DIR sections. Not posting in the wrong one by accident because they pop up in your feed and look interesting (guilty!) but actually starting a thread to "ask a question" that you aren't genuinely interested in learning from.

Other DIR problems......
- Mischievous wags start a thread for the purpose of bashing those prohibited from posting there.
- Mods cutting no slack for accidental posting where one is prohibited. Instead of advising, they issue warning points.
(Note: this is not a criticism of moderation, but of the rules.)
- We outsiders were once able to have friendly discussions in green DIRs. But the new venue removed this option.

Nothing at all. I think that every poster, and every post, is a gift to be cherished and shared. Every thought and word on this forum is a unique, delicate expression of beauty and truth to be admired evermore. Tears of pure, unadulterated joy stream from my eyes with each new thread posted. Even now, the blinding, white light of pure love and happiness surrounds me after reading this thread.

1. People who take themselves too seriously on this forum
2. People who cry "no one will every debate you here after this" when they are clearly losing a clean debate
3. Mal-assertive losers who create "dark and mysterious" personas when it is obvious that their material life is a complete joke

And the colors were a good warning to look twice before entering.
