What I like about RF

BSM1

What? Me worry?
For the most part, people are real here. Genuine. There isn’t this weird competition of who is saying the wittiest one liners that have nothing to do with the topic.

We get it. You are attention deprived. You need every thread to be about you.

You're talking about me...Right? Right? Woo-Hoo..

I like RF because this is probably the closest I'll ever get to being omnipotent overlord of anything.

I also love how funny it can be, and how emotionally invested some people become in a debate with a person they've never met on a subject they wouldn't otherwise care about.

Actually I quite like the wittiest one liners and longer digressions in the last post is a winner thread and the non-random, non-meaningless posts in that thread.

And, oh yes, every so often @Sunstone will ask a question that actually causes me to think before answering. And what is even more shocking is that others can ask good questions as well.

But, that fits that thread lol That's almost the purpose.

I feel the same. :)

RF is one of the few forums out there where people actually like using their intellect and staying on topic. There are forums that all seem to have topics that derail into meme wars and sexual innuendo. (well, there is @Wirey ) lol :D

That’s what I like about RF and why I always come back. It’s not perfect, but it’s a site that doesn’t let one clique rule over it and ruin thread after thread with its attention seeking bs.

What do you like about RF?
Generally speaking, you can actually learn a lot about other people. Very nice!

I like Deidre! :dancer::holdinghands:

I also like how much I have learned from correction. It doesn't seem like I learn much, but actually a lot has sunk in, just sometimes the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

I'm the first to apologize when I'm proven wrong, but still see no need to apologize for pointing out Fascism, tyranny, dark-aged Theocracy, and hatred in it's ugliest forms, even when the people I admire here indicate that I'm doing something wrong! That is just an issue I can't compromise on.

I like to see a MOD of GOD like @Quagmire who forgives people 70X7 and beyond. He's just the epitome of Jesus Christ. Though I think if you crowned him with thorns and crucified him, he would say something from the cross other than "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do". :D

I like the Muslims here, and in fact, on average, I'm more fond of the average Muslim I meet than the average Christian. So, it is with a heavy heart that I start threads that make Islam look bad. :(

I thank the atheists at RF. I like them on average more than the average Christian. In order for me to renounce the Bible as being without error, I had to have angry atheists say "God is gonna burn me in hell forever just for not believing in the d*uchebag! God killed people for working on the Sabbath? What would we think of a regime that killed people for working on the wrong day of the week??? That's F***ING PSYCHOTIC!"

So, people (especially atheists) at RF and elsewhere have taught me to reject all that is psychopathic or hateful in the Bible or Catholic tradition. So, I follow my heart, follow my conscience, try to follow the golden rule, obey laws, be humble, be honest, not harm others, and stay sober. Anything cruel or hateful I reject no matter what text from Scripture, the Pope, or Saint tells me to do otherwise.

I don't need an ancient text to tell me what is wrong. There is a still small voice inside that tells me not to harm others, be honest, don't steal, stay sober, and do good deeds. :)

It's great to meet so many atheists , witches, heathens, perverts, gays, transgender, or Idolaters who are compassionate, kind to people, and kind to animals, who make more sense than the average Christian!:raisedhands:

They aren't the damnable savages that Scripture makes them out to be.

I would hate to sound like a sycophant but I really enjoy threads such as this and all the many other interesting people who post here.

Also a few nuts but that's life I suppose.

Insane people occasionally say something interesting although they by their nature don't realize it.....

Although some of them would say that about some of my posts!

That's exactly what I thought She's definitely talking about BSM1..

since I practice faux humility as my fundemental belief.. It definitely wasn't about me.. Yea it's psychopathic but hey I am a nice psychopath.

I don't consider you a nut - your posts are quite interesting - you seem to post things the average person just wouldn't even consider or dare to post!

By the way, most people say I am nuts so I can relate to many people who post here.

All the best!

:)
