Yes. I was just hoping for a sub-thread.Do either you two know what an example is?
"What if there's no God?"
The original post. Note the G. Only one god is generally capitalized in that matter, the god of the Abrahamics, Jehovah.
If you are going to take te thread in another direction, then you need to be more concise.
In reply to the above...
Who says that in a deterministic reality with one omnipotent Godhead demiurge, said deity didn't create us with free will already in palce, ie the ability to act ourside of said Godhead's own "personality" and views?
Yes. I was just hoping for a sub-thread.

I didn't take the thread in another direction. You need to limber up that mind some, drop notions like this, "Only one god is generally capitalized in that matter, the god of the Abrahamics, Jehovah.".
Many people capitalized God and they are not always in reference to Abraham's god. Forget religious gods, your god, and actual gods, you are going have to have a much more flexible mind to understand people when they start using the G word. I suggest morning stretches.
*snicker*
I suggest using terminology that everyone else uses, or if you're going to use your own personal thesaurus, laying out what you actually mean when you state something.
Show where I am incorrect.
It is easy to blame your own shortcomings on others.
What if there's no God?
I dont think you are..(Am I crazy?)
What does my question say?
What if there's no God?
What if there's no God?
Personally, I do not believe that any deity that would be fooled by Pascal's Wager is worthy of worship. Thanks Silver for this nice question,
Indeed our imams [the shia 12 Imams] have responded to this assumption,
In that case [if there's no God] we believer would have lost nothing,
As we have enjoyed this life,
We lived it to the full, in the best possible way of living it; as avoiding sins can only bring good in this life ad the here after...So we enjoyed this life more than the non-believers.
On the other hand if there is God...then the non-believers would be in trouble in the hereafter.
Personally, I do not believe that any deity that would be fooled by Pascal's Wager is worthy of worship.
But then, I guess I have a much higher standard of God than those who like Pascal's Wager.
Actually that is not entierly true. According to some you would end up in Hell because of your faith. Fact is no matter what faith you have you will always risk eternal suffering. It is never about winning or loosing as I see it, no matter what faith you have there are always risks, it is about walking the path where you belong. The answer of our Imams is completely different than Pascal's Wager idea.
We believe that God can be proved by reason.
And we response to the a supposition by the unbelievers, that based on their belief, we lose nothing by believing on God.
and based on our belief you lose everything by not believing on God.
So this is completely different than Pascal's Wager theorization.
Then the Catholic church will have been the largest financial scam of all time. :yes:What if there's no God?
