What if Tim Tebow Were a Muslim?

The Sum of Awe

Not even close. To most of Tebow's fans, assuming most of them are Christians, faith in Jesus is the only way to be right with God. To most BIBLICAL Christians, Islam is just as false a belief system as sun worship. Therefore if Tebow was a Muslim, he would just another one of the myriad of preachers of false belief systems, at least to most of his fans

You definitely not know American conservative Christians that have more interest in football than their God :D (which makes up a large crowd in the football audience). Those types usually would say something like "HE DIDDED 9/11!!!"

I think that Tim Tebow might have a good chance to become a Congressman as a Christian, but no chance as a Muslim in most places in the U.S., and no chance of becoming a U.S. senator as a Muslim, or a U.S. president as a Muslim.

So, regardless of what people say, many of them would consider Tim Tebow much differently if he was a Muslim. Mitt Romney is a Mormon Christian, and millions of evangelical Christians would never choose him over other Republican presidential hopefuls, much less a Muslim. When John McCain ran for president, he said that one thing that he liked about Sarah Palin was that she had the same religion that he did.

Millions of Christians consider Tim Tebow to be part of the family of God, the same family of God that they believe they belong to. They would certainly be more pleased if he was a Christian than if he was a Muslim.

When Russia was a part of the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union usually won the most Olympic Gold medals. How many Americans rooted for Russian athletes? Certainly very few. It is human nature to be clannish, and show favoritism, based upon all sorts of criteria, including religion.

Good question! I would feel the same about him as I do now- no difference.

If you had one son who became a conservative Muslim, and another son who became a homosexual, and married another man, would you be displeased in any way?

It is interesting that Tim Tebow likes to make Christianity an issue in a predominantly Christian country. How is that impressive? Christians are quite numerous all over the U.S., and are a substantlal majortiy in very state. Would a Republican go around Mississippi making an issue out of being a Republican in one of the most Republican states in the U.S.?

What's your take on celebrities espousing or supporting other causes or beliefs? How is this any different from Madonna wearing that little red string around her wrist, or Sean Penn supporting liberal political causes?

Makes sense to me. The only sport that interests me is surfing, boogie boarding is my passion. :surf:

I have a soft spot for hockey, being Canadian and all. Football (regular, not American) is a close runner up because I have lived in Ireland and England. Fandom is catching.

Christians (both in practice and in deed) would be upset that the NFL is supporting such an "evil" religion by promoting Tebow. It's hypocritical and very christian these days.

I'm a Christian and don't feel that way at all. I think your judgmentalism is very telling.

I doubt it. My husband would be, to tell the truth. But I never think about that- I have 2 sons- one is autistic and the other has Aperger's syndrome and ADHD and Bipolar (yes, all at the same time), so I have other things to think about than their religion and/or sexual preference. :)
