Agree. I have many friends that identify themselves as progressive and or liberal that would never be part of the things I described in my first response on this thread.

Such people doubtless exist, but is that even the common usage of the term?

It seems to me that it is most often used as a derogatory word which is expected to carry an ad-hominem and obfuscate whatever merits (or faults) the actual people and their behavior might contain.
