No the soulcannot not die, it needs to be saved. But not the spirit... it returns to God.

Our soul is from and and part of God's essence , through which we and God communicate, and which returns to God at our death. We have no control or power over our soul.

The soul is the mind the intellect and reason and was "formed" on the same day as our body made from dust which was the seventh day.

The spirit is that part of God within us; which returns to God. The spirit “created” on the sixth day when man was “created" in God’s image and likeness"; for God is a spirit not a soul.
