What is Contemplative Christianity?

Maybe, if everyone stopped using computers, there wouldn't be any more meditation in the world...
I don't think you can show me that in scripture so I'll just stick with the Bible and throw my computer away, since that's not in the Bible either. But then I'll be sitting in silence without it, so, that's not scriptural either so I should turn the TV on. But that's not scriptural either, so I'll have to find something else to distract my mind from being silent. Oh what to do? I'll have to pray about this. :)

Yeah, I was waiting for that. :) Actually, it teaches us to have a good sense of humor too! :) Plus we smile a lot, sitting around with silly grins on our faces at the coffee shop.

Ok....I guess ridicule is now humor.....oh that's right..there are no standards...your ridicule is reflecting refraction into goodness right before my eyes

Oh come on, lighten up. You were playing the game yourself a little while ago. :) You suddenly don't know how to laugh at yourself?

Alright, we'll get back to nothing but serious posts. No laughing at the absurdity of some arguments. Sorry. *wipes silly grin off face*

Thanks for pointing that out....like I said...there's a fine line with disrespect and you knew you crossed it. "Waiting for it"

Seriously though, sometimes a point can be made though making humorous absurdities. I was hoping having a laugh together might make a point in a good natured way. For instance, a Catholic priest and a Jewish rabbi were having lunch together. The priest says to the rabbi, "Rabbi, when will you come to your senses and have a nice ham sandwich with me?". The rabbi smirks at him and answers, "At your wedding, Father. At your wedding". :) See the point?

Have a circus... "Bread and Circuses" seemed important in that part of the world during Jesus' life...

Actually, that reminds me of my great grandfather I learned about in doing genealogical research. They lived for a time along the Missouri river doing farming. What was considered a Saturday night's entertainment was on one of the other relative's farm they would set up a tent for the traveling evangelists to come and preach at. This was of course in the early 1900's, so without T.V.s or Game Boys and whatnot, this was a big happening. Fun was had by all. They eventually left there and moved to a religious utopian society. I'll bet at least one of those who came to spread the good word influenced them to become part of that.

Would that utopian society have been New Harmony, Indiana?
