Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I prefer stainless. Less maintenance required albiet harder to make.
It has it's place, but it's more costly, doesn't hold an edge as well, hasn't as much ultimate tensile strength, is prone to galling, & is nastier to machine.

But man desired a better god for his tool making needs. He tried the lesser god of Copper, but Copper was soft, however, man found that when he combined his worship of Copper with the a worship of the malleable god Tin, a new god arose who was named Bronze. And Bronze was good.
But man desired a more powerful god. And through the worshipful practice of high-heat forging, drew the Great God Iron from His resting place of Ore.
And so it was that Iron was awakened form His restful Ore, and dominated mankind for many millennia.

Actually Aluminium is more abundant in the Earth's crust than Iron.
And Oxygen is the most abundant element...in fact Oxygen is the 3rd most abundant element in the universe.
But Iron is certainly the metal which has elevated man to where he is today.
