What is it with the Guns?

Seriously. As a (fortunately) non-American, the whole guns thing is a complete puzzle to me.
I like guns. I mean, I also support legislation but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

For instance, this is without question the most gorgeous firearm ever constructed by human hands.

And of Lugers, the single greatest one ever made is this one;

I would kill all of you to have this one.

If guns are equivalent to penis size... Er, why settle with a gun when you can have a portable sniper rifle + flashbang + flamethrower that's capable of killing a polar bear. Yep, .454 Ruger Super Redhawk is the only gun you need. :) Probably can also double as a club if you run out of ammo.

You'd have to read the threads for the civilian perspective.
But for us pro-gun types....
- We have a constitutional right to them.
- They're useful for self-defense, hunting, sport, & collecting.
- They feel like liberty.

The Right to Bear Arms is outdated, constitutionally. The reasons for why it was put in there no longer apply to modern American society.

Self Defense from whom?

Dang it...you took the words right out of my mouth: "They feel like liberty". I guess you have to understand what real freedom means, and costs, to get it.

From whom?
You can't think of any time you would need to defend yourself?

1) Hunting for sport is cruel and inhumane.
Do you count hunting for food as sport? Hunting for food is more humane than buying burgers.

2) What rights? You don't have any.[/QUOTE]
You mean to say we shouldn't have any rights. Will big bro take good care of us?

Actually, it isn't.

"In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the Supreme Court handed down a landmark decision that held the amendment protects an individual right to possess and carry firearms."
