What is missing from the bible?

This thread asks the question, "What is missing from the bible? If this question was asked of Moby Dick or just about any other book, there probably wouldn't be any response as the question wouldn't make much since. Nobody is living their lives using Moby Dick as their inspiration. The Bible on the other hand is supposed to be inspired by God. Every day people go to the bible for direction, guidance and purpose. Reading the book is as close to talking to God as you can get. With all that said... The book is missing a lot.

I agree that, considered as a blueprint or map for living one's life, the Bible seems to be missing a lot. But that's just my impression. I'm no Biblical scholar.

A convenient red herring this. I never attacked you, nor did I call you a single name. You seem to be under the false impression that the Bible is "missing something", ergo you are clueless about this aspect of scriptures. You say you want info, but then you get all huffy when I give you some. You don't sound harsh: just clueless. Sorry, if my bluntness seems harsh to you. but if you can't take it, why give it? Like many people, you make a lot of assumptions. These assumptions cause you to read something and decide it means something it was never meant to. Like the scripture about the Scriptures being inspired. You see that as being the same as being written, which is an obvious error when you stop and think about it.

Now, if you would stop trying to defend yourself and re-read my previous question. I would suggest that when you answer that, you will find that all of your other questions will also be answered. Really, really.

I don't need to defend my position. I am just asking basic questions which you keep avoiding because you obviously do not know the answers. I am ok with that. I wasn't thinking you would give me anything inspirational but I was hoping you would come back with something other than spin.

No, it's not. You, however, are missing the point of the book. The better question would be: why are you so clueless when it comes to Scripture that you can't seem to understand it?
The book is missing several books that the book refers to yet are not included in the book.

So yes, it is missing alot.

Hmnnnn, you seem to be avoiding my answer then. So be it.

Can anyone here tell me what I am avoiding? I didn't see an answer that would warrant a response so I am confused. I will gladly respond but please tell me what you wish me to respond too.

You clearly misunderstand what the Bible is, and what it is for. The Bible never claims to be the be-all-end-all of Divine revelation. It was never meant to be studied that way. The Bible is not "as close to talking to God as you can get." It's one way among many valid ways of looking to God.

But the Bible isn't "a blueprint for living one's life," any more than a Chilton's manual for a '73 Vega is "a blueprint for living one's life." (There's a lot missing from Chilton's too, in that regard!)

Elvis' Jailhouse Rock and the Beetles' Yellow Submarine.

Einstein's General Theory of Relativity and Special Theory of Relativity.

Quantum Mechanics and String Theory.

And lastly, but not least, Darwin's On the Origin of Species, hence Evolutions.

Many gnostic books that would have presented a "non-literal" view of Jesus, i.e. he never existed physically- just a manifestation of a spiritual Christ. Actually, some of the books by the supposed Paul are just this, although not claimed to be so by Christians.

The bible is also missing a fax machine.

It would be so much easy for God to fax his books into the bible, instead of relying on words of mouths from his prophets. Prophets don't make good scribes. He should have faxed his version of "Religions For Dummies" or "One God For Dummies" or "Trinity For Dummies".
