What is the best argument for an atheist?

I have reviewed that article and the survey and realize it is all about how they ask some of the questions. Atheist are not any smarter than anyone else. Hate to break it to you, but I'm glad to be the first one to do it.
It's not about being "smarter" per se. It's about the amount of knowledge known. Do you agree that you can understand something better the more facts you know about it?

BTW, which questions do you find objectionable? You do realize that PEW research center is rather well respected; I'm sure they know how to give a fair survey.

Do you realize how stupid your questions are? Wait, what is that... its a :unicorn: wait, no! It can't be. How is that so?!@#$

No I don`t realize how stupid my questions are.

I am quickly realizing you are unable to answer them and truthfully should perhaps make it more of a priority to understand why you believe what you believe since it appears you cannot defend even the weakest of attacks on your beliefs.

So please answer my "stupid" question..

Can you understand the concepts/ideas I have mentioned without believing they are "real" and "true"?

Or you could just continue attempting to deflect it hoping none will notice that you have no adequate foundation for your own statement.

I will warn you though I am not known for letting such a transparent tactic pass and will merely continue to drive home your inability to rationalize your own beliefs until their is no doubt to any who are reading that you are truly clueless about what you are.

Okay, how about you go on a wild goose chase for unicorns and when you find one you can let me know.

I bet he has already undertaken that goose chase looking for your god.

In fact I think he and I may be on the same wild goose chase right now.

Wait. So I have to provide a real live unicorn in the flesh that you can see and feel, but you don't have to provide a real live God that I can assess with my senses?

This one has trouble with analogies for some reason. I gave a similar analogy that was also called stupid, though the objection was totally missing the point. I don't know if it's a problem with reading comprehension or if it's deliberate.

HAHAHAHA, don't worry! My college transcripts say enough. I don't have to show them to you.

Just curious on why you routinely miss points, attack straw-men, then vulgarly call people's legitimate questions stupid. There's something wrong there. Why do you take such a beligerent approach rather than a collected and searching approach for one? Why this "me vs. them, their ideas are so stupid and I'll tell them that to their faces" approach?

Linwood's analogy was meaningful; as was my box analogy (which you still haven't really tackled by the way; in that thread you've only diverted with yet another red herring).

Instead of all this hostility why don't we converse like friends who are trying to figure something out?

We`re not asking for your college transcripts.

We`re asking for an intelligible answer.

"Can you understand a fictional or unevidenced concept without believing it to be truth in reality?"

Do you care to answer this question?

Gloone,

Let me postulate this to you: Let's say I believe in invisible pink unicorns. I have studied them in depth and I happen to be deeply immersed in the pink unicorn religion. Now, I ask you to do the same and join the pink unicorn religion. What would your answer be?

Also, how do you reconcile the fact that you probably do not believe leprechauns exist, but god does. How is a leprechaun different from your god? What if I told you that it is a leprechaun posing as god to you?

Please let’s get off the subject of unicorns and fairytales. I’m glad everyone is flattered by superstition but please don’t bring this into an intelligible debate. If chasing pink unicorns is a hobby or something you did in your spare time, then I don’t warrant you to feel more than obliged to catch the silly things, but don’t resort your pastimes while debating.

What is the best argument for an atheist?

Usually the first thing and only thing that comes to mind is prove it! Prove god exist!

Is that the only argument atheists have or is there something better? When I see this argument I see an argument that isn’t very well thought out or designed. Since an atheist has no grounds of belief to stand is it normal for them to criticize other people’s religion to buff up their own lack of philosophical views and beliefs?

Also if you can think of some other atheist arguments go ahead and add them to this thread. I would like to see some other out of the ordinary arguments made by atheist.
There are people of religious belief that will pick up venomous snakes because they believe that god will protect them. Some get bit, some don't. Of the ones that don't get bit, is it because of a god? Or were they just lucky? And if it was god, how do you explain people from the same following that got bit? Less belief?

What's the matter? No evidence of their existence?

Kinda like a certain deity of some desert nomads......

IDK try joining the church and find out for yourself. If you are into that kind of thing then why ask questions?
