Sounds like a non topic.
I'm learning the different types of evolution as well as the Vedic creationist theory of evolution

@Bthoth @Bharat Jhunjhunwala I need your help, what type of evolutions do people have in India and what is Bharatiya, because this word was used with in the word evolution.

I was learning this word Bharatiya Bharat means Indian and iya means? the philosophy evolutions or what? It is different from Dawin. or what doe IYA mean?

is that a type of evolution because old Puranic and Vedantic
As Vivekananda would have it, just as a farmer breaks a dam in order to irrigate specific parts of his farm, karma regulates the flow of prana, life-force, leading it up and down the evolutionary scale

It is Dayananda Saraswati who first raised the monkey business in a public lecture in Roorkee in 1878: “If man descended from monkeys, how is that the process has come to an end and monkeys don’t evolve into men?” That monkeys remain monkeys these days and don’t turn into humans right before our eyes was proof enough for Dayananda that Darwinism was false.

Vedic creationist theory of evolution

Vedic literalism of Arya Samaj was overshadowed by the philosophically adroit Advaitic evolutionism of Swami Vivekananda, later elaborated by Sri Aurobindo

the school curricula and make it more Bharatiya in spirit and content. (Stayapal Singh must be celebrating: No more monkey business in our schools!

Dawin thinks physical body monkey then eventually became Human physical body

Bharatiya thinks no physical monkey body eventually became no human physical body

So I wanted to explore this more

River sea, You dive into great topics and similarities but I have a hard time digging into some of the angles that you address.

Evolution is a process. It was originally comprehended here in the west accompanying Darwin's book "On the Origins of Species'

Funny part is, Darwin never used the word even once within the book.

I use the word evolution to share how knowledge developed and progressed over time. The old ends up extinct but still living within the process.

Bharat = India
Bharatiya = Indian.
I am fully on board with the scientific formulation of evolutionary theory that was originally proposed by Darwin. The Hindu idea of Karma will include the physical cause-effect relationships that is the heart of all physical processes including the unfolding of biological evolution....so Hinduism should not have any problem with that. The idea of soul or jiva-atman in Hinduism is considered a subtle form of material structure as well (prakriti) though it includes mind and volitions and is impacted by psychological karma (how one behaves and what the effect of that behavior is). This is considered to "move" from body to body from one life to another and where it goes is depended on this psychological karma. There is no scientific analog to this, but there is nothing in scientific evolution theory that contradicts it either.

Maybe you or someone else can contact Meera Nanda at Academia and explain how her PDF is misinforming and has caused a lack of information about what Darwin is.

This is where I read this information; you can read it at Academia.

@River Sea , a quick read of that article suggests that the problem is centered on the current government of India (from the BJP - Bharatiya Janata Party) is not being very good at promoting scientific education in its educational policy (NEP 2020).

Some of that comes from the surprisingly retrograde views of a former Minister of Human Resources.

It is sad to learn (from that same PDF) that scientific education in India is so lacking. I expected it to perform considerably better than here in Brazil or in the USA.

nah..... I do not need to mess with Meera. IF she had no idea that Darwin never used the word 'evolution' in his book, proves that she did not read it.

I also giggle when people use the term Darwinism as if it's a religion.

@Bthoth
These people cause humor when they make Darwinism act as if it's a religion instead of a process. I'm new to learning Darwinism. Maybe I too will cause a type of humor by learning names for my vocabulary and retyping 'til I'm comfortable with names and who they're. Is this funny? Please vote.

YesNoMaybe

What does Charles Darwin think about Princess Tharbis and Pharaoh Akhenaten? If there is no way to know, what are your thoughts if you were going to psychoanalyze this?

Princess Tharbis and Pharaoh Akhenaten never heard of Charles Darwin's Darwinism research because Charles Darwin's research 'Darwinism' wasn't yet known; however, were there any people's research similar to Charles Darwin's Darwinism research back during the era of Princess Tharbis and Pharaoh Akhenaten?

@River Sea I honestly think that it would be best for you to place this learning project of yours on hold and spend a few months concentrating on the history of science.

Best wishes to you.

Article written by Jenny McGrath
Mummified animals Napoleon's scientists brought back from Egypt sparked a pre-Darwinian debate about evolution

Read from here

I'll write some key points about article.

Quote from article:
A collection of mummified animals that the scholars brought back from Egypt seemed to hold the key to the question of species transformation

This article talks about necks and legs became longer.
Here's an example from the article

Quote from article:
Lamarck is probably best known for writing that giraffes got their long necks by stretching for leaves and passing down that trait to their offspring. It wasn’t a completely new idea, but Lamarck was unique in saying such behavior could gradually lead to a new species.

This article also uses the word gap.

Example word gap: Quote from the article
Some of the biggest questions in natural history were why animals went extinct, and new ones appeared after big gaps in the fossil record.

There's more from article

Quote from article
With the publication of Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species” in 1859, the whole debate flared to life again, this time backed by the naturalist’s wide-ranging observations and extensive research.

@Bthoth explain that Charles Darwin thinks humans don't come from monkeys, which I agree with. So I was curious: what has this article written about this?

@Bthoth

So Darwin never used the word evolution in his book. I wonder why? What other words are similar that people use for evolution?

Are you asking how the Indian people evolved? Or how Indian society evolved?

All humanity shares the same biological evolution. We all share the same 99.9% of DNA. It's not like there is distinct groups of humans.

As to Indian society, I know very little. I know nothing about who lived there before the Indus Valley culture, or how that culture came into being. I also know very little of how other groups were later incorporated into that culture and changed it.

Actually, there is nothing in the piece written by Meera Nanda that says or implies that Darwin ever used the term "evolution". If @River Sea believes otherwise, he is mistaken.
I made a mistake when reading the article

@Bharat Jhunjhunwala will help me with this

The mistake I made was I was seeing the word style and I mistaken style with Theory

Example Darwin Theory was named after his name

So I thought style was name after the name

After I re-read the article I learn more

That's what I had learned

@Bharat Jhunjhunwala please help me with this

I was a beginner at Evolution and I recently learned at that time that Darwin lost his daughter

That's how far I gotten

Then I saw this article and I mistaken the word style in thinking style was named after Bharatiya when it wasn't

I learned and this is how I learn,

@Bharat Jhunjhunwala will help me with this

The mistake I made is I was learning evolution, but I learned it as it was named after a person. So I thought style was named after Bharatiya, the same way theory is named after Darwin ; that was my mistake.

I see all people the same

I thought the word style was named after Bharatiya - how theory was named after Darwin - I've already went through this as @Bthoth help me understand. I only gotten as far as learning that Darwin lost his daughter, and I didn't go any further then this in learning evolution

And I'll only write about burnt bake bricks needing 50% of straw..

@Bharat Jhunjhunwala will you help me please

What happened is I saw the word style, and I thought the word style was named after, just like how Theory is named after a name Darwin

From that article I had to re-read over and over. And I learn that the word style wasn't named after anyone.

Sad I can't answer @Bthoth this is so sad.

@Bharat Jhunjhunwala I'll go back to only writing about burnt bake bricks needing 50% straw

This is beyond my abilities

I was learning about evolution back when and I didn't go further then learning that Darwin lost his daughter

What a mess

I thought I improved when I responded to @Bthoth

@Bthoth explained a while back that Darwin never used the word Evolution.

So theory of Evolution was named after Darwin while Darwin never used the word Evolution.

While I mistaken the word style named after Bharatiya and it was @Bthoth who helped me understand

That Bharatiya means Indian

It taken me a while to process this

the idea of naming after a person while yet seeing other words that's not named yet how to tell the differences

I see all people the same

@Bharat Jhunjhunwala this is what I was responding to

oh @Pogo thank you for your kindness
Change over time, or in Darwins case reproduction with variation and variable survival

I didn't go any further with learning about evolution then when Darwin lost his daughter: after learning that Darwin lost his daughter, I didn't learn more on evolution. I stop learning. more.

Then I read this article and I made a huge mistake, I thought the word style was named after Bharatiya the same way how theory was named after Darwin

I need @Bharat Jhunjhunwala help with this please., what a mess

I'll go back to only writing about burnt bake bricks needs 50% of straw
