Oh! Not in the UK, I was in one a couple of weeks ago. Good range of vegan and vegetarian options. No Maître d' though

When it comes to fast food, I agree, but there are some decent fast casual and casual restaurant chains out there.
There was a chain of restaurants, now defunct, which I remember from the past: Nickerson Farms. Each of their restaurants had a beehive where customers could watch the bees make honey. (Although I remember one location where the beehive was missing, with a sign which said that the bees were accidentally exterminated due to a miscommunication.)
I don't eat there often enuf to notice change.
They sort of do here.
You put your order in at the terminal and they bring your food to table.
I will also eat at Sheetz from time to time. Either a quesarito or a cheese sub on flatbread.

Second Cup is one thing I miss from the GTA. I don't think there are any left in Southwestern Ontario west of London.

I mostly only get to indulge when I'm in Montreal.
It must be about 30 years since I set foot in a Pizza Hut.
Generally, if I'm getting chain pizza, I'll order Domino's.
I'm going to nominate two restaurants for best chains:
Harvey's for best chain fast food
Kelsey's for best chain sit-down restaurant with a bar
(Honourable mention to Swiss Chalet for the last category)

They do here, although you have to order at the front, and most people don't make use of the table service.
