What is the Message of the Book of Job?

The man "who never gives up" curses his birth and prays for his death. Stop embarrassing yourself ...
... or don't. It's entirely up to you.

Job starts complaining to God and accusing him of being unfair towards the end. God rebukes Him about it.

OK? Do you know many people who admit God's rebuke? I think I know none personally. So...I do not know what you are saying. He believes in God for good or bad. Many people stop believing in God when things get rough.

The book of Job shows me that even a faithful servant cannot be without fault. Not one of us by actions alone is deserving or can challenge God's wisdom.

Funny it showed me that if you are powerful enough you can be a *****head to someone over a small bet.
To ruin a mans life for no reason
Might makes right

You do not understand. Job serves, in great part, as a polemic against a theology that suggests that disaster is a reflection of God's punishment.

Why the hell don't people read the damn book ...
and think ...
before presuming to explain it?

You have a different perspective and that is fine. However I view it as I do. In my thought 'god' is nothing but an idea a fable. I gain knowledge from a book in my own light. If you wish to view as a story to be a reminder to fear your deity and live life in fear you may.

I read it. The character of Job never believed that. His three associates did.

I understand Job believed it was God's prerogative to cause disaster. Where does he finally admit it was punishment? Please.

You can view it as a recipe for fruitcake as far as I'm concerned. Your perspective is perversely ludicrous.

Haha You can't accept an opinion you disagree with. Such is the concept of many people who believe books are more than they merely are.

I know you know the definition of punishment.

My hobby is to look up words. So...why not look it up?

I can't accept an opinion that is grossly ignorant and wholly at odds with the text.
Always with the condescending superior attitude...

Question Everything
Job is proof that religion isn't about leisure, R&R, the no-struggle, care-free life... but then why do people sign up for stuff like running a marathon, climbing a mountain etc. etc. .. humans are gluttons for punishment? or perhaps we don't know who we are or how strong we are, until we push ourselves to the limit?
