In case you ever have time to read the Catholic view on this:Please let me know what you think.
"Science (reason) adjusts its views based on what's observed. Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved."
"Science (reason) adjusts its views based on what's observed. Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved."
Faith is hope for a better tomorrow. Faith can be based on real circumstances and completely possible. Please let me know what you think.

That's awfully "lyrical". You can add that to a song.
But faith isn't hope. Faith is belief without sufficient evidence. Faith may engender hope, but they're hardly the same thing.Faith is hope for a better tomorrow. Faith can be based on real circumstances and completely possible.
Reason is being aware of the possibilities which can be based on mathematical constructs.
I think you've got it backwards, Oak. To reason is more to analyse evidence and come to a reasonable conclusion based on this. There's no a priori belief involved. To reason, is to find evidence for your belief. To God having faith and being faithful are essential.

Except that a healthy faith leaves room for doubt."Science (reason) adjusts its views based on what's observed. Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved."

Not necessarily, although that is quite often the case."Science (reason) adjusts its views based on what's observed. Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved."
I would call that belief. Faith is belief with trust; a trust that doesn't admit doubt.Except that a healthy faith leaves room for doubt.

We need both to accurately predict what will actually be realized.
I'm not sure anything I trust is with certainty. Most supposed knowledge is about 85% to 95% certain with little doubt but the doubt is there. Faith and doubt are in degrees and relative to one another.I would call that belief. Faith is belief with trust; a trust that doesn't admit doubt.
Faith supplements our own brain's limited ability to reason.
