What is the true Religion today?

Why do we have so many religions today?

Why so many?
Catholic? Born Again? Baptism? Jehova's Witnesses? Mormonism? Seventh day Adventist?

Which is true?

Truth is One; however, Sages refer to it with many names.

No religion has the monopoly on God. Such a statement would be extremely arrogant.

Science. The things "I know" are not special because I am something special, but because Muhammad was the last prophet, and I am the first chronologist. Chronology is inevitable, a function of evolution, a product of the scientific method dictated by a methodology that disallows prophecy - but allows time to flow backwards. The last great "revealed religion" as predicted by a mere mortal - Darwin - with the prophetic voice of the only god there ever was - Nature selects.

The rest is just chaos. :D

I can tell you only one thing:Which ever religion tells that is it only true religion is obviously a false religion.

That's why scientists insist science is not a religion. :D

But we're not communicating through fetishes, totems, nor Inca calendars; if you know what I'm saying. All the religions mentioned in the OP are revealed religions, and all are soon to be whacked upside the head with the theory of entropy. (Which is the Second Law, only better). I find it hilarious that such a thing was used by Creationists to insist that life must have a Creator, because that Creator must be entropy. :D

Since nobody likes my map of Vancouver, let's say we're all born outside the forest. In the middle of the forest there is the clearing of enlightenment (or righteousness, if you prefer.) There are no "true religions" in the sense that no one path is more certain than another, but there is a true center. Once one gets there, one knows that one has arrived.

The OP talks about only one religion:Christianity,he has not even bothered to mention even a single religion outside Christianity.

Some say there is only one way to arrive at the center.I cannot stop laughing at those comments.:D.

Greetings!

Why do we have so many religions today?

I would say for two reasons:

  1. First, because God periodically sends a new Divine Messenger to renew religion and provide updated guidance to humanity; and this is done by having the Messenger reveal a new religion.
  2. And second, because humanity, in its egotism and perversion, often corrupts existing religions, frequently altering their teachings or adding new ones such that the result may, especially over time, drift very far from the original! Each of these human changes may well also split off into a different division from the original.
As to which one or ones are true, while I have my own opinion about this, it's not for me (or anyone else!) to impose any opinion on you! Rather, it's YOUR duty to investigate the various religions, without prejudice ("pre-judging"), and decide for yourself which path is best for you to follow! (This is what we call "Independant Investigation of Truth.") And I--for one--heartily support your right and prerogative to do this!

Peace, :)

Truth is perception based.

Why so many? Because we can, because humans carry intelligence. We might as well be discussing why are there so many theories pertaining to evolution or why are there so many different research groups all going their own way to find a cure for cancer. Humans carry intelligence and by golly they will use it.

Which is true? Why every one of them is true according to the people who follow them.

On a personal level, due to human perception, I tend to lean the same way as Riverwolf does. I too would suggest, that all the religions are looking at the same thing albeit seeing it from different angles of perspective.

We say they are Christian, but it's like trying to herd cats - 2.4 billion of 'em would claim 8 billion "true faiths" and cause a bunch of chaos. Revealed religions are doomed, they just don't know it yet. I talk a bunch of crazy talk ('cause I'm crazy) but I know what I'm talking about when it comes to the science of entropy...

Don't question it Vakko! Take it... on faith.

Me, too. I found the center through Gwynnie. What am I supposed to do, start making temples? Girl would kill my dumb ***.

I don't think there really is such a thing as true religion especially of today. However I have noticed the trends of some religions are becoming more and more inclusive now. There seems to be more room for thought in organized religions. If one questioned something that would have been controversial to the bible for example, they would've been burned or persecuted. Now more and more religions seem to be much more open minded than they have in the past.

However this trend would probably depend on where you lived. I'm sure in other countried ruled under the thumb of religion, there's still no room for the philosophical questioning of life or the way life has evolved...etc etc.

"Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites;
like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in
degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be
reconciled." — The Kybalion.

There is no One True Path.

"True" and "religion" is an oxymoron.

IMHO you and others exhibiting this opinion haven't investigated enough religions to discover that this isn't necessarily the case!

As ever, the fact that you can and do reject the validity of 999 religions in no way prevents the 1,000th from being true!

So it's a simple question of whether or not you (and others) have in fact investigated enough of them to enable a different conclusion.

Peace, :)
