Was Jonah to all intents and purpose dead in the belly of the whale?
Would his fate be classed as sealed when swallowed or when he would have actually died? Jesus ordeal started on the Thursday night when arrested he was then killed Friday and rose Sunday. The fact is he suffered for 72 hours including death. Then rose from the grave. So his suffering and death right up to resurrection was 3 days.

Jonah is not Jesus

Jonah was swallowed by a big fish

Jesus was buried in a tomb, not in a big fish.

But the two are not the same, because God's free gift is not like Adam's sin. It is true that many people died because of the sin of that one man. But God's grace is much greater, and so is his free gift to so many people through the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ.
