I think it is easy to try and freak out and get as far away fro your addiction as you can at times when you are in recovery. So on some level, it would make sense that some addicts turn to extreme addiction.
I turn to Buddhist Monks talks quite often and get reminded that most Monks commit to a single life, or else a sexually moral life if they are married. Many commit to single life and no sex! It comforts me.

It is just a wrong notion. I don't agree with one.
My point is that if one is not 100% sure that God does not exist, then there is no harm if one turns to God, but there is no compulsion to anybody.

Whether or not a person believes in God 100% or if there is some doubt remaining, turning to God can indeed lead to harm. I've already mentioned Jehovah's witnesses who refuse blood transfusions.

If all the people of the world turned to Yahweh in supplication and prayer as did the people of Nineveh at the preaching of Jonah, we would avoid all the judgements of Revelation. It's great that some people are turning towards spirituality. It really is and this is my prayer that more people would do so. Although I'm finding that they are a number who are not, I hope that those who do continue in well-doing even if this virus does pass (Galatians 6:9). I remember in 9/11, people turned to spirituality at that time but soon went back to their mundane ways a few months after it had passed. Similarly in World War 2 many turned to prayer, but when the war is over, liberal and licentious trends kicked in.

What's the point? I'm saying how turning to belief in God can cause harm, even for those who are not 100% invested. I'm not talking about atheism.

Jehovah's Witnesses say they are not in a cult. Ok but I was out not he street 7:30 waiting for my 8 am bus to my fundraising job, I was falling asleep in my chair and a lady with heels and dressed up dress on came to wake me up to give me a copy of the Watchtower. When I enquired why she was there so early she said she got up at 430 am in the mornings on the weekends get out at 630 to witness for the Kingdom all day, I think they're out there for 12 hours a day maybe 10.
If that's not extreme what is? She got in my face and woke me Good morning!!!!!!!!!I jumped shaken and I almost said what the LLLL?

Most groups that are popularly known as cults believe they are the only true group to the exclusion of all others, only these days they will not admit to being a cult, which has become a dirty word.
Very much the same as severe fundamentalist in most religions.

Briefly,the leader was believed to be the incarnation of God on the planet.
The organisation has now morphed into a 'Peace organisation' and the leader now presents himself as a Peace Ambassador and denies much of the past.
On the surface it looks good, but I am positive the hard core is still there somewhere.
Anyway, I have mentioned this before here and don't want to give it any publicity.
