What is wrong with sharia law?

I guess I just don't find that anywhere near promising enough, particularly given what I know of the mainstream.

Instead, I favor presenting a clear and emphatic message to those silent and otherwise peaceful hopefuls that expect us kuffar to eventually "open ourselves to the truth of the Qur'an". That being No can do. Stop presuming to know what we should believe in. There is no honor in hiding behind scripture.

Crude, probably, and more than a little traumatic. Still, far as I can see it is the most constructive of all realistic treatments of the matter.

I find it promising enough that I've been actively financially supporting such groups! They really do help people as well, it's beautiful the help they provide to people in need.

Right, so what do you suggest as the means by which human rights can be best encouraged in areas where orthodox forms of Islam currently justify much the opposite.

But that tolerant liberal Islam is all but ignored in the greater Muslim world.

Largely, yes. Although in a way, it's hard to tell, because it can hardly be vocal. We see people coming out of Somalia and Algeria who become strong Islamic gay rights activists, for example - how many more are holding such ideas and having that kind of faith amongst themselves, but quietly, in Islamic countries? Maybe 0, maybe lots, we really can't say.

I have no doubt. I know enough about them to have a notion of how badly needed their actions are.

The decisive factor is ultimately, IMO, whether the necessary ideas spread widely enough and with sufficient adherence. Fears must be dispelled, mistakes both for and against various forms of Islaam clarified, people should be reminded often and clearly that we are talking about actual human beings in both groups (which is one reason why I don't approve of the military approach).

Most of all, it is important to dispell the fears of secularism and atheism that exist in so much of Islaam, and raise awareness of what diversity of beliefs truly exists and how little of a concern it has to be.

We can only hope so, and do what we can to facilitate that dialogue openly and flexibly.

While Islam relies on hate speech and fear it cannot claim to be a religion never mind a religion of peace.

The holiest book of Islam (61% of which is about non-Muslims) draws the sharpest of distinctions between Muslims (the best of people, 3:110) and non-believers (the worst of creatures, 98:6). Praise is lavished on the former while the latter is condemned with scorching generalization.

Far from teaching universal love, the Quran incessantly preaches the inferiority of non-Muslims, even comparing them to vile animals and gloating over Allah's hatred of them and his dark plans for their eternal torture. Muslims are told that they are destined to dominate non-believers, against whom harsh treatment is encouraged.

Is the Quran Hate Propaganda?

Read your own citation, especially page 2. Do not just google, read what you link.

Do you even read your own stuff? It says in the article that the reviewer says the experiment was too uncertain to prove anything, and the person who did the study said he discouraged such therapies.

I talked about the exact study the article talks about in post #645. The person who did the study came out a few years later to say actually there were mistakes and the study was wrong!

It has said that it definitely does not in the vast majority of cases, and that there is as yet no evidence to confirm that it can do so ever. So there's no proof it ever works, but a possibility it works for less than one in every thousand people. That's even been said by the head of the former Exodus International.

I don't believe that there is no homosexual turned straight in whole world.

This is the trick ,but if he turned, you may could him/her biseuxal

I know the much dispised Nonnie Darwish speculated that up to 1/3 of the Muslim world would leave Islam tomorrow if there was no penalty or social stigma for doing so. She claimed that was her experience growing up and living in Egypt. Who knows how accurate it is ... ... but we can always hope.

That does seem a little excessive, I'll be honest. But maybe? Who knows.

All such "therapies" in the western world have pretty well been debunked as fraudulent and highly misleading... no pun intended.

Suffice to say that no reputable doctors would actually recommend such "therapy".

He has long since demonstrated his lack of respect for facts or human rights in regards to this area.

The emphasis on the dangers for the afterlives of us kuffar sure seem to agree with that number.

Believe what you want.

Evidence. Calling something a trick is nothing but an assertion.
I mean playing with words, when a homosexual turn to straight they may called him/her bisexual.

Google evidences said there are stories about people were homosexual turned straight.

Googles full of sources that said homosexual people turned straight.

And once you look into those sources, look into where they come from, what studies they rely on, the methodology of those studies, and the opinions of experts in the field on their validity, you can see very clearly that the weight of the evidence is solidly against them.

You posted one source, and you were wrong about what it was saying, and it was later debunked altogether.

Why should you trust your understanding of any other sources, and why should you assume that they have not been debunked either?
