What is wrong with those people who listen to music?

Fear? I am confident enough to let go of music. Are you confident enough to live your life without music?
Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night.

But here's another stark difference between us, soviet; I find absolutely no reason to "let go" of music. You say a lot that it's harmful, that it's inhibiting, etc etc, yet like all talkers you haven't shown anything. How is music bad? How is it harmful? All music, mind you - there's no rationale in plastering all music everywhere as harmful because of one or two artists.

Are those people depressed or something? Why do they need to find joy in their lives through music? I think music will only make it worst. Music will make your life joyful for a short run but for the long run it will only make it worst.

I can only speak for myself and I am definitely NOT depressed, because I take every opportunity I have to seek out joy in my like... such as listening to uplifting music or talking a walk on a sunny day. How exactly does listening to sounds that are pleasing to your ear going to make anything in your life WORSE?

You failed to tell us what ailment you suffered from that exorcising music from your life cured. What type of music did you play that had such a negative affect on your life? How did listening to sounds that were pleasing to your ear make your like worse? Was it a matter of you feeling guilt for feeling joy in your life? Have you somehow convinced yourself that you're not supposed to be happy and feel joy?

Well, maybe you should try avoid music for a week or so. Just to see the reaction. Why not?

Prophet Muhammad once said:

“Surely, in the body there is a small piece of flesh; if it is good, the whole body is good, and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted, and that is surely the heart.”

Muhammad and the Quran were pretty ignorant when it came to biology and the sciences.

Oh and being against dance and music sounds counter-revolutionist if not fascist.

The NKVD would like to talk with you.

Tell me more.

Modern music is engineered to hook you.
Not 'modern' music, 'pop' music is designed to appeal to the masses in order to make the most money possible. If you have half a mind and an ounce of Will you listen to what inspires you, not to what 'they' are 'selling' you.

No wonder why those musicians use drugs, its because the drug inspires them.

Do you actually have a point to this thread, or are you just typing to be heard?
It's obvious you are misled by your religious limitations on the Arts.

Pre-Islamic Arabia was a beautiful concoction of the Arts that surrounded them, to this day some of the most wonderful and majestic music has been generated by non-Islamic Arabs / Middle East and Sufi Sects. The Dastagh Maqam music of Arabia, Persia, Northern Africa and Turkey is one of the most complex and religious systems of music next to Hindustani Raga.

Open your ears and your mind . . . you're missing out on Life's pleasures!
