Thus, the concept “religion” is a subcategory of the concept “worldview.” A religion or a religious worldview acknowledges grounds for being that cannot be known in our “ordinary” experiences or through scientific research. Secular worldviews do not acknowledge such grounds.

I am a Former Roman Catholic and I follow from birth to 21 years of age.. then I Attend different Religion while reading different Scripture, I also try to see Islam... but now I ended no Religion to Join.

Religion is a Guide not source of salvation... we only learn from it how to follow God according to their Doctrines (false or Not ) we Live according to our Faiths and Beliefs and APPLY IT ACCORDINGLY TO OUR LIFE...

Matthew 15:14
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

YOU HAVE YOUR FREE WILL TO SEARCH FOR TRUTH.. WITHOUT OTHER RECOMMENDATION OR INFLUENCE.

DON'T JUST RELAY ON TRADITIONS AND HEARSAY...

PRAY AND ASK FOR GUIDANCE TO GOD.

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I apologize in advance if your religion isn't listed, as the software limits polls to ten choices. I did my best to name the most widely practiced.

If your religion, belief system, or worldview is not listed, feel free to select 'other' and post below. Also, there are many religions or traditions that fall under the the umbrella term in the poll, so feel free to be as specific as you like.

Also, this poll will not close, so if your beliefs evolve and you wish to change your affiliation, you are free to do so.

For what purpose is this poll?

I put "other."

I'm an atheist, but that just describes what isn't in my worldview; it says nothing about what my worldview is.

If I were to describe my worldview, I'd say that I'm a humanist, freethinker, and skeptic.

Thanks, but when I created the thread, my intent was to grasp how one identified from a religious perspective. I didn't feel "what religion are you," because atheism and agnosticism are not religions. I felt 'worldview' would be all inclusive. I also felt the the OP would clarify any confusion as to what I mean by 'worldview,' which is why I created it; so people wouldn't just answer the question in the title with something like "atheism isn't my worldview."

How would you have asked the question?

My worldview is an independent creation from my own conscience and experiences in my time on the planet. This freedom in the area of worldview stems from the Catholic teaching on 'conscience', though there is also a close, interdependent relationship with Church teachings on morality.

My style of God-worship is of the Catholic tradition.

But they're not worldviews either.

It's the same way that "not collecting stamps" is not a hobby. There are plenty of hobbies that have nothing to do with collecting stamps, but it would be wrong-headed to call, say, baseball, photography, genealogy, and gardening to all be different forms of the same hobby of "not collecting stamps." Each is its own hobby.

I think the question's fine. I just don't define my worldview in terms of someone else's belief system.

Hmmmm....my answer’s changed from a year ago.

A year ago I was a ‘back-and-forth type of person, though I had identified as a ‘Bahá’í’. Nowadays theistically, I’m undoubtedly a monolatrist rather than a monotheist, but (due to my studies of its early historical and cultural contexts) I’m extremely sympathetic towards Christianity. So, if I had to choose a category, I’m going with ‘Christianity’.

I am a Muslim .I admit all the prophets before Mohammed.Mohammed is the last one.We are all the children of Adam.In my Holy book Quran We have 20 pages only about Jesus and Virgin Mary.So as Muslims we are informed about all the past religions and events about the past. But What I believe people should put the common values to save the world not the differences.I claim that our common points are more than differences

If anything I call myself a Christian Deist, I do believe in the trinity but the aspect of God whom I worship is Jehovah aka Heavenly Father. I believe the unity of God is one, I also am influenced by the Kabbalah in regards to the practical (magic) application. The God aspects on the Tree of Life are for us to relate to God. The greatness of God cannot be fully comprehended as a whole at any given time by all forms of life, so it is necessary to access go through its personas that we can comprehend and relate to. But I also believe that God has no obligation to enact with us, and thus we have to come up with concepts which are unknown to us in order to try and get attention from God.

At this moment my religion is personal development and community service, with love for nature.

I believe in "Syncretic Universal Monotheism" and DVMAZ seem to be the first letters of each name mentioned in my username.

SUM or Syncretic Universal Monotheism means I believe in all the various "gods" as attributes, aspects, manifestations, domains, of The One Power (TOP). Lots of acronyms for the DVMAZ.

I believe in Ocassionalism, Berkeleyan Idealism, Hedonism, Absurdism, maybe a touch of Nihilism and some various miso for spice, like misanthropy and misotheism, misandry, misogyny, whatever.

I'm an angsty thirty three year old who tends to get ejected from most places.

I hold views that are highly unsavory, such as "Free Will Is Illusory, God is the Source of Every Nuance of Experience Every Moment Including All Bad Experiences or Thoughts, and Everything I do is calculated based on pleasure and pain measurements and estimates or expectations with the goal being the longest lasting pleasure and avoiding the longest lasting potential suffering or pain".

I believe 7 major themes seem to permeate all aspects of human experiences, and people may be sorted almost by their affinities, and naturally, even if they are atheists or some particular religion, devotees and members of one of these cults or domains, or multiple.

These are
House 0-7: Space/Sun/Cronus/El
House 1: Air/Jupiter/Zeus/Baal
House 2: Water/Moon/Poseidon/Yam/Tlaloc
House 3: Earth/Saturn/Hades/Mot
House 4: Plasma, Electricity, Fire/Mercury
House 5: Life, Growth, Evolution/Venus
House 6: Destruction, Disease/Mars/Apollo

Each of these categories has numerous symbols and associations and themes which seem to mark and surround people in mysterious ways, even down to their ancestry, name, preferences, thoughts, choices, things they purchase and collect, and a lot more.

I'd love to know what affinities any of you may feel you currently have and why!

I am curious about the demographics of the forum membership. Perhaps others may be as well.
It will not get you the demographics, Salix. There are thousands of members and how many have participated in the poll. The heavy majority is Christian.
I claim that our common points are more than differences.
Mohammad or Ali? Ali or Bahaollah? Bahaollah or Mirza Ghulam Ahmad? Or others. Trying to paper over differences?

I don't think any of the religions I am aware of are true on the whole. IOW, I don't believe Jesus was the son of a god or that Mohammad was a prophet of god or that God created man in his own likeness or that Moses got some commandments from God on the top of a mountain. But I think many religions share good guidance on how best to get along with others as long as one weeds out the extremism, trivia and (what I consider) tangential rituals and special beliefs. I don't think God exists or that there is a "supernatural" (whatever that means) existence/realm. I believe everything that I am aware of or am convinced of has a natural explanation even if it's not known now or explainable. I guess I'm a default naturalist in that I THINK the natural world is all there is, but there might be something that could convince me there's something 'else' beside natural existence. But I can't really think of what that might be.

I was bummed that I was limited to just one choice. I can't choose just one religion. A friend once referred to religions as a stained glass window through which shines the same light.
