What makes God God?

Now if you ristrict for...
Then ....
Where is the concept of What things makes God a God??
Well, not get your question still.....

I want to restrict the use of scripture because this isn't a debate on what God is, but rather a debate on why God is and/or has to be that way.

"Eternity" makes God a God (Never born, never die)

So, then immortality is the only quality that makes a God?

Okay !

No, not only but special....

How i came to know about "Eternity" is because I hav never seen any one in my life denying about God, and yeah ! there are some Atheist believe so but no validity to support idea!

So, the only quality of God that makes him God is that he created the universe? Why?
I thought the question was what makes God God to us?, not what is God? If the latter, then I would have said something very similar to what Vassal said. God is the ground of being. God didn't just create the universe some time in the past, God is continually creating it. God sustains the universe's existence even as we speak.

edit:
To make the connection to the OP more clear, God is God because our continued existence depends on God.

Why does God have to be omniscient, omnipotent, and all-loving? Why can't a God be a God without these qualities?
Satan is depicted as the god of this world, in LDS theology, and in every respect he is the god of this world, reigning with terror, death, destruction, disease and all other horrors found on this earth..

He has been given powers over men and women on this earth, but only if we give him those powers, by doing his will, which is to hate our fellow man and envy, lust, molest, murder him/her. etc..

Satan is the god of this world and many worship this god for what he offers...

So yeah, there are differeent types of gods...

Loving and hateful gods and everything in between probably...

So, God has to be free from human emotions in order to be God?If God is not like us in any way, then how do we understand him? And, why in scriptures is God portrayed as being like us, with human emotions?
Or, is it only the bad emotions God can't have? Why?
I think you already know the answer to these questions...

If God was created, then he wouldn't be God.
What if something is eternal/not created but it has no relationship with you whatsoever. It makes no difference in your life whether you believe in its existence or not. Is that still God to you?

That's God to me, but we are born with the instinct to search God out, so I doubt that He can be 'no difference' in my life.

My belief or unbelief has no bearing on the existence of God.

Actually, I feel the same. :) I don't think one needs to believe in God, yet God gives of Godself to everyone.

BUT what if there is something that is eternal/not created. And it has no relationship with you. It has not done/does not do anything for you. To you. With you. Whether you believe or not. It is just this thing that has always existed. Would that be God to you?

What I'm trying to say is that surely just being eternal/not created is not the only thing that makes God God.

what makes god is us human .....

who ever believe that there is god, ... then god exist in their mind

who ever doesnt believe then god doesnt exist in their mind

this world can be a world with god or it can be a world with no god.

what makes god god is us the worshipers

imagine that there are no worshiper, would there be god?

think about it

Why must that be the case?
It goes back to the question of what makes God God. In my view, God must be God to something or someone in order to be God.

A father must be a father to someone in order to be a father.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that a chair must be a chair to someone in order to be a chair.

Without the relational aspect, all of these things may still be something, but they are not God, father, and chair.

simple logic ....

what makes God is His worshiper
no worshiper no God (at least in the minds of the non-worshipers)

a God is not a God if he has no worshipers
a singer is not a singer if he has no song to sing.
a barber is not a barber if there is no hair to cut.
a gold smith is not a gold smith if he has no gold to "smith" on

of cors god is great, he doesnt need us to worship him he can always create other beings to worship him. the question is, are we greatful enough that god has chosen to create us rather than other beings instead? how do we show our gratitude? by worshiping Him of cors .... and that completes the cycle of God and Worshiper...

ehehe and i'm not sure if i'm making any sense right now .. LOL

Bro Jay,
i have quoted my previous post in this thread to give you clear view of what lilithu and i trying to establish

In order to be considered a God, does he/she/it have to be omnipotent, omniscient, benevolent, or all-loving? Does a God have to be at all concerned with humans? Can a God not have any of these qualities and still be a God? What exactly is it that makes God God, and why does God have those qualities as opposed to others? Does a God have to be devoid of certain qualities to be a God?

(I'm not asking what your religion says God is, I'm asking why those things make you God a God. Just so there's no question about this later)

I use the term "God" (capital G) as referring to the personal aspect of the Supreme Absolute Truth. By definition (being supreme and absolute), God is full in all potencies. All qualities derive from Him. Yes, that's right. ALL qualities; i.e. "weakness" and "ignorance" (for example) are the lack of qualities, not qualities themselves.

As far as being concerned with humans goes, the answer is no. God is not required to be concerned with humans. As a matter of fact, I move to say that God isn't concerned with humans or any other bodily form within this material manifestation. Instead, God is concerned with eternal souls, which are different from temporal bodies. The reason God is concerned with souls is because they are manifestations of His internal pleasure potency. God has no work. He needs not do anything. Yet by His internal potency He enjoys eternally. In other words, God enjoys within Himself. We are part and parcel of that internal potency, but currently we have forgotten our position due to contact with the material nature.

I hope this answers your questions.

There is no god, man makes up god concepts.

If god didn't exist mankind would still find it necessary to invent one.
