What qualifies as "Religion"?

What is the fine line between
"religion"/"not religion"?

I will give an answer, although I am not qualified to answer that question ( ;) ) I see religion as a way to better ourselves spiritually rather than physically. One doesn't necessarily need a deity or deities to achieve this- so a religion would not need a God. Our bodies suffer if we don't exercise- walking, running, etc and since I believe we have spirits I also believe that our spirits would also suffer if we don't take care of that, as well.
That is my view (partially).

What if it practices... "experiments" in... things that science proper,
does not... perhaps cannot... address.
Repeatability is a key aspect of developing knowledge, because it allows one to share knowledge with another and to seek confirmation that their results were accurate.

Personal experimentation may be useful, but ultimately there's so much subjectivity involved that I'd consider it religion depending on the specific scenario.

Regarding the OP, I'm pretty sure it can't be a religion unless there's at least a little bit of snake handling and a spiritual leader with a weird beard or a hat or maybe a bow tie on.
