Oh, fancy schmancy are ya! When I have a hot dog or hamburger, I have it with a regular old-fashioned gallon of mustard.

Over here I'm not sure you'd be allowed to call that wishy-washy yellow paste you use mustard

Oh, that's the last straw! You are going to hell .

I'm obviously going to heaven and swirling in a lake of beautiful yellow mustard. :p

Enjoy...

I've never had American mustard but have heard it's milder and sweeter than french, i guess that would have benefits if all you want to do is mask the taste of the hot dog ;-)

Oh, and I've been to hell, I don't like it

Chickpea and feta salad with pitta bread croutons.
Coffee eclairs.

I make it with chickpeas, tomato, fresh spinach, onion, olive oil, oregano, & balsamic vinegar. Great summer dish, imo.

I'll have to try it with feta as that's my favorite cheese.

Try mixing balsamic vinegar, salt, and a few peppercorns with canned cranberry sauce. (A good way to use up the canned cranberry sauce.) If anything you can use it with mu-shu.)

I'll give it a shot.

What I ended up doing with the last of the balsamic and the remaining reduction was to make a balsamic vinegar based BBQ sauce.

It came out pretty good.

Although i love onion, since my stomach op i cannot eat it so it doesn't get used.
Spinach is replaced by lettuce.
The dressing is olive oil and lemon.
I use the same herbs and tomatoes.
I also sprinkle with it walnuts.

Going to try the spinach, thanks

I have a sensitivity to bulb onions, so I usually use chives or green onions as they're not as strong.

The dressing is olive oil and lemon.

Ya, I should use lemon more, so thanks.

I also sprinkle with it walnuts.

That's my go-to snack in the evening but I'll also have to try it on the salad. Thanks again.

The area we live has walnut trees in the streets and car park, walnut farms abound, plus growing wild in the forests. I've not bought a walnut since we moved here. Every October/November one of us goes out and gathers a shopping bag full from under the trees. Just enough to last the year.

Sounds like me last year. I was walking home and noticed some chestnuts. I have never had them or even seen them. I took a few home because the nuts themselves were beautiful. I then found a recipe for roasting them but right away something was wrong. They would not come out of their shells. And when it chipped out little bits they were extremely better. Turns out that horse chestnuts do not taste very good.

I have a walnut tree and haven't a clue as to how to harvest them. That outer covering is TOUGH. And I've never seen one without it.
I also have a Pecan tree, but the Squirrels only leave me the duds.

OK, we are experimenting tonight.

At the restaurant supply store, I picked up a jug of peach real fruit smoothie mix, thinking it would be good in tea. Notso good.

So, I mixed a good portion of it with some sweet chili sauce, some green curry paste, some incredibly weak fish sauce, and some white vinegar, and am now marinating skinned chicken thighs in it to cook up like Chicken Adobo. I'll let you know how it comes out.
