A nice, heavy fruit cake that is fed a tablespoon of cognac every few days, the alcohol evaporates and leaves just that wonderful rich cognac flavour infused into the cake. By December 17th it should taste like the "angels share"

Angels share is a cognac distillery term. As the cognac is left to mature up to 3% of it evaporates and creates the most wonderful aroma in and around the distillery. This is such a beautiful smell its been given the name "the angels share";
Oh no! It is even worse. Now you are trying to corrupt angels. I will sacrifice my own liver for those poor angels.

Actually when I buy some booze it is often for cooking too. I buy sake because I found a really good traditional teriyaki recipe. In Japan many households do not buy teriyaki sauce. It is easy to make one's own as needed. And I am very sure that you know all about the wonders of wine when cooking. The first time I deglazed a pan with wine I was rather amazed at how easily it cut through the fond and added its flavor to the dish. My housemate calls the fond "the goodness".

The primary use of wine in our house is cooking.

Try a pasta sauce that uses no water but a half a bottle of good red wine simmered down to the right consistency. So much flavour, so rich. And the house gets the angels share

Lemon pepper chicken and crispy pita salad with garlic hummus and golden goddess dressing. It was quite the chore to make and there's **** scattered from one end of the kitchen to the other. Fortunately I'm the cook not the cleaner. Golden goddess dressing sounds better than it tastes.
