As a non-American who can deeply relate to the goal of immigration to seek a better life somewhere other than one's country of birth, I find it quite sad that migrants are being used as political chess pieces by American politicians and demagogues.

One would see it as an asset.

Democrats keep saying they want immigrants. Well then, give them immigrants in their own jurisdictions.

Immigration issues solved.

It's my view on the matter. The context is give them to the people that want them. Not the ones that don't.

You said Democrats "want more immigrants." What's the context of that? I doubt anyone wants immigrants just for the sake of having more immigrants, and if anyone does, they're almost surely an outlier.

Democrats are the ones with the open doors and open arms policies.

Republicans want the gates shut for a bit.

I see it as giving Democrats what they want.

This is the Democratic Party's official platform on immigration:

CREATING A 21ST CENTURY IMMIGRATION SYSTEM - Democrats

Nowhere on there did I see any mention of an open-door policy. Rather, the platform's stated objective is to provide more opportunities for asylum seekers and qualified immigrants (both of whom are still thoroughly vetted).

It is sad, but it has happened several times before, as well. What's really so surprising about it is that all those "native Americans" hating immigrants aren't actually "native" at all. They put all the real natives on reservations, and then pretended that they're the real deal.

(Fair play, we did it here in Canada, too. I hate that just as much.)

Well it sounds like the right people to ship them all to.

The entire lot ought to go exclusively to blue states.

So you're saying, **** you to asylum seekers? Which country did your family originate from before they came here? Why did they come here? Do you know? And now aren't you glad America welcomed them? Or would you like to have your family sent back to whatever ****hole country they left to come here? Sauce for the goose, should be sauce for your gander, no? Should we kick your family out?

No. Just that for once, people ought to put their money where their mouth is.

Lead by example.

But they don't look like immigrants.
I think its the baggage rather than the 'look' that upsets a number of people most. From what i hear naturals don't want other people's problems carried over and resurrected all over again and brought to their doorstep.

A better life means not repeating the same mistakes you ran away from if things are going to work for the better.

Speaking of immigrants as if they were a bunch of commodities to be "shipped to" other states--especially out of desire to spite political opponents--doesn't seem to me a helpful approach to the situation either.
I do recall Democrats arguing that we need immigrants
for the economy. But to be fair, this was in response to
Republicans wanting to curb illegal immigration. So they
might've been saying it only for political gain, & not have
believed what they said.

Anyway, it seems fair to spread the burden of illegal
immigration. Why should only southern border states
bear the brunt? Let DC face what they hath wrought, eh.

Send them to California. We need more hard working people trying to make a life for themselves and live the American dream.
