What's Great About RF

I think the best part of this place is that you can take it or leave it. You don't have to engage with someone if you don't want to, and you can make actual friends. @Revoltingest and I were friends a million years ago on a different forum, where the Pope would show up, and the world's leading expert on tartans resided. Even though I've only ever seen him once, and I was afraid to introduce myself in case it wasn't him, I feel like we've become actual friends over the years. I probably wouldn't loan him money, but that's a pretty common thing with my friends. You can come here, be you, make smarmy stupid jokes about farts, argue politics with a loon, ignore a whiney little snot, and get on with your life.

And as I recall, you were my internet wife....or rather, my paramour.
Oh, worse poetry has never before or since been wrought.
Even William Topaz McGonagall's was better.

The people mostly, you can take them or ignore them as is required.

There are some interesting people here. I am not that good at reading (or writing) but i will invest time reading some of the longer posts because i find the antics of the posters to be fascinating.

A sort of comradery, the sort where you can **** someone off today and chat with them tomorrow as friends.

The humour, some is in my ballpark

@JustGeorge and her finger pulling jokes

@Revoltingest the scrap brass is a good talking point

Best thing about RF? All the people here are so open-minded and respectful, often willing to change their beliefs after careful consideration, and none ever stick to outmoded beliefs (despite a ton of evidence) or ever try to impose these on others. So threads never get boring or trivial. o_O :hugehug:

PS. But there are an awful lot of arrogant know-it-alls on RF too, and seemingly intent on making us all wiser - as long as we get to believe what they seem to believe.

In the real world, I'm surrounded by people
more intelligent & educated than I am.
But reading posts on RF, I begin to think
that my 70 IQ is a cut above.

What's great about RF to you?
Well i don't want to trust someone who is surrounded by people smarter than him when it comes to speaking on intelligence. Also the IQ test is no measure for true intelligence
