How you "feel" isn't really the issue.I feel it looks kinda disrespectful, and/or lazy.
Or, if you're going to be a purist, learn to write it in Koine Greek.Write it out fully, lazy fingers.

But it's still a position. How you "feel" isn't really the issue.
Pft. Aramaic or bust.Or, if you're going to be a purist, learn to write it in Koine Greek.
Not one that's universally heeded.But it's still a position.
It's either. What I'm more interested in is if X stands for Christ, as it does, why is it Xtians and not Xians??
There's no one to my knowledge that is Christtian.
Oh dear....Poor Christ
Things I learned from this picture:Maybe it implies that all Christians (Xtians) are Criss-Cross fans?
I would be insulted by that implication too...
And you dont feel like you're overthinking it just a bit?It seems irrelevent. A lot of books in the bible are long. I havnt seen Xtian used until almost recently. Kind of the same as the wave of peoplen saying "I am not a christian, I have a relationship with Christ" and, I dont know when this happened, people are divorcing themselves from the word religion.
I just thought there was a reason.

Now Im thinking, I would say a christian would use the full name. Seems like an abreviated relationship with Christ. Words have power.
Right, exactly. It makes me think of the Daoist immortals.Eh, I see "Xian" and I think "oh... so something related to China?"
So what? Neither are global warming, the holocaust, evolution, LGBTQ rights, gender equality or democracy universally heeded, doesn't mean it's not right to heed them. Not much is universally heeded. Just because it's not universal doesn't actually mean anything. Not one that's universally heeded.
Ah..xtian
meaning christian
the x comes from latin and is the latin letter for christ, i.e. x-tian means christ-tian or christian
also xmas meaning christ-mas
Ah..
..not because using "x" makes them a little cross?

No. Was just shaking my head. "Tis. Tis. Tis. Poor Christ." It was a more general statement that people use so may different ways to refer to the guy. If five people calles me five different names, Id find it hard to keep track. So, Id dsignate two names, one formal and one informal, and leave it there.Oh dear....
I knew an old lady who had a X pendant. She told me that an apostle or disciple was crucified so, whom she followed especially.
I have known hundreds, and seen thousands of 'T' cross pendants in my li.
My post to Spiny was in humour. You seem to have turned it into something bad....?
It just nags my eyes when I see it.And you dont feel like you're overthinking it just a bit?
Have you ever tried reading War and Peace? I was half-way through before I realized Prince Andrei, Andrei Nickolayevich, Andryusha, Andre and Andrei Bolkonsky were all the same person. It got terribly confusing. It was a more general statement that people use so may different ways to refer to the guy. If five people calles me five different names, Id find it hard to keep track. The full version isnt a fast-food read.Have you ever tried reading War and Peace?
