Not necessarily. At least not to the point where you're hoping God will do it all. Reminds me of the lottery joke where some guy is whining to God that he's never winning, and God says ... "Maybe you should buy a ticket." But yes it is a trap that some theists can fall into. Leave it all in God's hands. Usually very little happens than.
God's funny like that: typically, "God's actions" are just the actions of oneself or others attributed to God.

if someone can convince themselves that this is what a god would want and expect from his/her ''obedience''...that's beyond sad. not even sure of the word for such depravity.
But that is what Allah mighty said in Qur'an, otherwise it would be disobeying.
