When And How?

You dropped "universe" from the equation. It is my understanding that existence is eternal. The universe...not so much.

This is why you hear terms like one previously used in this thread; "the universe came into existence."

Existence is the substrate on which the universe appears. The terms concepts should not be conflated.
So what you’re saying is the third camp is people that believe existence has always been here and that the universe came into existence much later. No it doesn’t work that way imo. They would still be camp 2.

my initial post said the universe and all of existence. That covers it all including those who think the universe is all of existence, such as myself. So either the universe and all of existence has always been here or not. It’s one of the other in my opinion.
You do a great job keeping those blinders secured.

Keep on keepin' on. Ain't no one gonna expand your knowledge.

Your blatant denial is adorable.

I understand the theories of the origin of the universe. I’m aware that scientists don’t really know if one universe makes up the great expanse of space. I get all that.

Like I said there’s only 2 groups imo. Those who believe a god created the universe and existence or Those who believe the universe and existence has always been here.

We can leave the nuanced, theorized semantics out it for now.

I’d have more respect for you if you said you’re opening statement was a little fuzzy grammar speaking. I’m a little unclear on it. Could you clarify what you mean by this when you say the universe and all of existence was always here? But like you and all the other people you had to say no, no, no there’s a third camp and many more. I guess some people like to blow things way up into petty arguments rather than sincerely asking for clarification.

I know I shouldn’t have got into it with you. Your like that other person that I didn’t get into it with here who gets into all the semantics. Take it easy

Multiple responses to the same posts show others that you've won the thread.

Good job!

I got rid of the word universe in my original post as it was causing many people here a great deal of distress and confusion.

So there’s two camps in life. The first camp are people that believe God created all of existence. In the other camp are people that believe that existence has always been here. The key questions here, if you’re in the first camp, are when did existence come to be and how? That’s where all the religions come in and offer up different viewpoints. Truly, there was only one way imo.
I don't really that the 'when and how' questions matter. I think the bigger question is 'why'.

As to the idea that existence is perpetual, that just doesn't add up for me since nothing that exists so far as we experience it, does or has existed perpetually.

To live life. That’s easy

That's not an answer. It's just a description.
I’ve answered why here

Jimmy

Definitely. And several other beyond the three.

For starters, there are people such as me that believe the universe had a start but there is nothing remotely resembling a "god" involved in that.

But really, we need to establish the definitions and premises for this discussion to have a modicum of meaning or purpose.
You still fall in camp 2 though unless you think all of existence had a start too.

Sorry. You can't change the OP and then call people out for your failure to be impeccable with your word. In the marketing world, that tactic is called debate and switch.
