how about you get wet when your in a swimming pool
or if you touch fire, you'll get burned
:areyoucra
you are sidestepping the obvious point i'm making
these are things we know to be empirically objective truths

for yourself that is...
it would be empirically objective if we were to experience it and interpret it the same way

there is empirical evidence for this which is why you and i can interpret death the same. the end of life as we know it.

again this is a personal point of view...purely subjective

a conjunction existing on principles that are not objectionable.

So which part of my discussion do you think will fail?...(subjective..or not)

I see we agree...death is pending.
We might agree there is life after death?

If yes...someone will stand over you....(no one waiting for you?)
If no...into the box you go...eternal darkness is physically real.

why does it matter?
what matters is the here and now. go hug your loved one.
do something that makes you feel your life is worth living for.
we have one life as we know it, why go to the other side when your here with the living right now?

I buried my father....yesterday.

Your post, quoted above, is correct.

But distance is a factor.
So many things that could have been said...or done.

Today...I hope to hang out with my son.
He happens to be home and I have the day off.

As for the afterlife.....
If all goes well, I will find my father, and all others I care for...

when did i ever mention sabbath? :areyoucra
is that a purposeful red herring or are you intentionally not reading my reference
sunday was the day jesus "rose from the dead" and then it became the lords day...
you can call an apple an orange all you want but it's still an apple.
it is irrelevant that these events would take more than 24 little hours...
there are many references that indicate these early followers believed jesus was coming back within their lifetime...in the entire new testament...

Sorry for any misunderstanding. But Just because God resurrected Jesus on Sunday does not Scripturally make Sunday the Lord's day as the world sees it.

The Lord's day of Rev 1v10 was not talking about Sunday.

Yes, Jesus had to straighten out his followers that he was not taking immediate action. That is one reason Jesus gave the illustration to his followers at Luke 19vs11-15 that Jesus, as the nobleman, would go away to a far country [heaven] before returning at a later unknown date.

Thief-

Sorry to read of the loss of your father.
May you find comfort in the Bible's promise of a resurrection.
[Acts 24v15; Isaiah 25v8; 1st Cor 15v26; Rev 21vs4,5]

I am aware.....I have no doubt.

I was given his ring...I gave him mine.

I will find him 'later on'.

Thank you.

hello again,
i do concede that this book is thought to have been written before the jesus movement began to take hold and that sunday became the "lords day" years later.
the lords day probably meant judgement day...which was was supposed to happen during the disciples lifetime... ;)

Yes. Judgment day including 'Jesus millennial-long day' of reigning over earth.

Please try Matthew 25 starting at verse 13.
Jesus had to straighten out his followers that that they do not know day or hour.
Verse 14 also mentions traveling to a far country.
Especially in those days such a long journey would take time. [no planes]
So while Jesus would be gone he gave that little flock of followers a job to do [vs21,23] until his return. Jesus already, at Matthew [24v14], said the global job about preaching about the kingdom would continue until the end comes.
We have not seen the end come of all badness on earth yet.
We have not yet seen that God will bring to ruin those ruining the earth.
-Rev 11v18 B.
We have not seen the removal of all the wicked from earth.
-Psalm 92v7; 37v38; Proverbs 2vs21,22; 10v30; 21v18

There was a limited or minor fulfillment of Matthew chapter 24
but we have not yet seen the major fulfillment of verses 21-51

Since Jesus judges in righteousness, then no one will be judged unjustly.
Jesus final judgment starts at Matthew 25vs31,32;16v27.
[Except for those of Matt 12v32; Heb 6vs4-6; 10v26],
Jesus 'rewards' the humble meek with the prospect of gaining everlasting life in view on a beautiful paradisaic earth where righteousness dwells.
-2 Peter 3v9.
All families and all nations of earth will benefit from the lasting reward promised to Abraham at Genesis 12v3; 22vs17,18; Rev 22v2.
