Where have you all gone?? There used to be lots of new posts and threads....not a single new one in the LDS DIR for ages!!

There are only so many times you can discuss the same topics without being listened to before you just get bored with it.

Some of us still lurk - if there is an interesting question we'll speak up again.

I have been losing interest in this place and been considering leaving it. The endless stream of posts and posters calling theists ignorant, delusional, danger to society, and so on have been really getting annoying.

I know this is the LDS DIR, but I just thought I'd say I really don't think you should think about leaving, bro. I know how you feel completely, it is really grating when the same crud is recycled and the same insults thrown around.

However, if you go, the anti-theists have won, in a small way - there's less theists to discuss with, and the forum would be less colourful. Since I've left staff, I've really enjoyed the use of ignore feature. :D

Haven't been on here in ages. I lurk every few months. But there doesn't seem to be anything new to discuss. Maybe you can change that Dream Angel. :D

Dream Angel! How are you?

I stopped posting on RF (except for the LDS DIR) a month or so ago. I just got fed up with all the rude people. It used to be the fundamentalist, right-wing Christians telling us Mormons that we worshipped the wrong Jesus are were all going to hell. Eventually, that kind of verbal abuse seemed to let up, but lately the forum has become so overrun by atheists that a lot of the Christians (not just the LDS) have stopped posting. The forum has always been very liberal, which was fine with me, but it got to the point where there are simply no interesting topics left for Christians. It's wonderful to see you again. I'm glad you stopped by.

I'm still here, as much as I ever have been. I do here what I do on most forums: read mostly, and post whenever I feel the need. I rarely post new topics, because I can never come up with a good idea for one. Rest assured, however, that I do check back regularly, and try to at least post occasionally.

If you don't mind a non-Mormon popping in, I miss all you guys too! :(
I miss you, too! Plus, I miss a lot of other people I used to chat with. But until the tone of this forum changes pretty radically, I'm not going to be posting on any of the main forums again.

In the years (I can't believe it has been years!) I've been here, I notice radical trends in posting, so I'm sure it will. :)

Did you actually read the thread? How many members posting on that thread called theists ignorant, delusional, danger to society, and so on?
I count 3 (I'm counting 2 posts as .5 each because they are obviously jokes, and one of the posts has been removed, but was quoted so it is still there - and it was by the OP who automatically gets added to the list anyway).

I count 12 people who have posted in the tread, so that's somewhere around 16%. (I removed the 2 .5's from the %)

Hey DA. I'm around too. But there seems to be a lack of deep and stimulating topics lately. Every time I get on it seems like people are mostly interested in showing off their knowledge and wit and pointing out the errors in other people's reasoning or beliefs. It seems that the only way to get a lot of interest is to make a contentious, provocative thread. Plus, a forum is kind of a hard way to communicate. It would be a lot cooler if we could all actually talk to each other.

Excuse an old non LDS for popping in.
I too have missed many of your member's posts.
Most have an attitude I find very "Christian"
I agree the absurd knocks you take must be very wearisome.

Christ never insisted on a single Church ... or any particular Church come to that.
That part was left open.
The Christ in people, shows in what they do and their attitude to others not dogma.
Our Traditions and beliefs become very important to each of us.
But Jesus's teachings and the love of God come first.

I come in and look around once in a while, but don't post very often. I miss the interesting discussions that I used to participate in. It doesn't run very deep here these days.
