the ability to rend the soul
What do you mean by "soul"?

By any definition I know, a soul is a non-physical thing that couldn't be subjected to a physical act like rending.

Did you mean for your definition of "greatness" to be an oxymoron?

I would say the creation is less

unless given a soul.....substance doesn't have one

But the Hindu perspective is that created things are made of God's own consciousness and exists within God rather than outside or separate from God.
So it isn't really accurate, from this perspective, to say that God is greater because creation is part of God. But I suppose it would be technically true that God is greater in that God is the 'whole' while creation is a 'part'.

I see creation as a manifestation of God's own self so I can't say that one part of God is greater than another.
But do you believe that God is approachable?
Do you believe one can pray to God? That God can change the way of things? That God have the power to alter it's creation?

I don't think that God can change his own nature or power but he can probably influence the physical/material in the way that one might steer one's own dream.
I think I know what point you will make though and I agree to an extent... have a look at post #85.

not approachable......actually dangerous

pray all that you care to.....it may be remembered during your last hour and breath

I suggest a review of the Carpenter in the wilderness having gone there to be tempted.
and the Carpenter did refrain any use of power

and God is given credit for bringing great harm to some people
