Which religion offers the right path to God?

Gharib

I want Khilafah back
Kalki is the final Avatar of God who appears in this world to rid it of 'evil'. It is predicted that this world will become like a hellish place with very bad people. He comes with a sword, ironically (reminds me of what is said about Jesus, when he comes back).

This is supposed to happen very far into the future. Many thousands of years from now.

Whether this does or does not happen literally, I have no real opinion. I think that many things are allegorical in scriptures and Kalki might be understood as something other than a man who kills people. I cannot claim to know.

the reason i asked that question is because of the following: i do not know much about this appart from what you read there.

Prophet Muhammad in Hindu Scripture
By Muhammad al-Faruque

One Hindu research professor, in his stunning book, claims that the description of Avatar found in the holy books of Hindu religion is in fact that of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.S). A little while ago, in India, a fact revealing book has been published, which has been the topic of discussions and gossip all over the country.
If the author of this book were a Muslim, he would have been arrested or he could have been murdered and all the copies of this book would have been confiscated. Even a ban would have been extended on its further publications. A riot and violence would have broken out against innocent Muslims and their blood would have been shed. Amazingly the author of this book is a fair-minded famous professor who happens to be a Hindu. His name is Pundit Vedaprakash Upadhai and the name of his fact revealing book is Kalki Avatar. The author is a Hindu Brahmin by caste of Bengali origin. He is a research scholar, a seeker of the Truth and a well known Pandit (scholar) in Allahabad University.
After years of research work, he published this book and eight other pundits have endorsed and certified his points of argument as authentic.
According to Hindu belief and their holy books, the description of the guide and the leader, named Kalki Avatar, fits only to the Prophet Muhammad of Arabia (S.A.S). So the Hindus of the whole world should not wait any longer for the arrival of Kalki Avatar (the spirit) and should readily accept Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as Kalki Avatar. The facts were verified and supported by the eight eminent pundits.
What the author and the eight other eminent pundits say is that the Hindus who are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Kalki Avatar are simply subjecting themselves to a never ending pain. Because such a great messenger has come and departed from this world fourteen centuries ago. The author produces the following sound evidence from the Vedas and other holy books of Hindu religion in support of his claim:
1. In Purana (a holy book of Hindus) it is stated that Kalki Avatar would be the last messenger (prophet) of God in this world for the Guidance of the whole world and all human beings.
2. According to a Hindu religious prediction, the birth of Kalki Avatar would take place in an isle which again according to Hindu religion is the Arab Region.
3. In books of Hindus, the names of the father and the mother of Kalki Avatar are given as VISHNUBHAGAT and SUMAANI respectively. If we examine the meanings of these names we shall come to a very interesting conclusion:
Take VISHNUBHAGAT= VISHNU (meaning God) + BHAGAT( meaning slave) = ALLAH + ABD (in Arabic) = Slave of God = ABDULLAH (in arabic) (name of Mohammed's Father) SUMAANI= PEACE or Calmness = Aamenah (in Arabic).
4. In religious books of Hindus, it is mentioned that the staple food of Kalki Avatar would be dates and olives and he would be the most honest and truthful person in the region. Without any doubt the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is acclaimed to possess these qualities.
5. It is stated in Vedas (holy book of Hindu Religion) that the birth of Kalki Avatar would take place in an honorable clan. This perfectly fits the Quraysh where the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) belonged to.
6. God would teach Kalki Avatar through His messenger (angel) in a cave. Allah taught Prophet Muhammad (SAW), through His messenger Jibraeel (Gabrael) in a cave known as Gaar-e-Hiraa.
7. God would avail Kalki Avatar with a very speedy horse to ride and travel the whole world and the seven skies. Indication of Buraq (horse) and Me'raj (ascension when prophet traveled the seven skies).
8. God would also avail Kalki Avatar with divine help. This was particularly proved in the Battle of Uhud.
9. Another dazzling account given about Kalki Avatar was that he would be born on the 12th of a month; whereas the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was born on the 12th of the Rabiul Awwal (Islamic Calendar).
10. Kalki Avatar would be an excellent horse rider and a swordsman.
The author here draws the attention of Hindus that the real days of horses and swords have gone and the present time is of guns and missiles. So it would be foolish on the part of those who still expect Kalki Avatar, who should be an excellent rider and swordsman to come.
In fact, the divine book, Holy Qur'an contains qualities and signs attributed to Kalki Avatar reflecting on the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).The author has given numerous arguments in favor of his claim that Kalki Avatar is in fact Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and those who still await the arrival of Kalki Avatar should think again.

Submission - one among indirect and inferior path to truth for the people who are less capable. Still some religions teaches this path wrongly.

can you please explain this statement, i don't understand what you mean.

That is very interesting Esalam, and perfectly possible. But it would make Mohammad an incarnation of God (Vishnu, Allah) but I don't think that Muslims believe this...?

I will paste some information about Kalki from Wikipedia:

In Hinduism, Kalki (Devanagari: कल्कि; also rendered by some as Kalkin and Kalaki) is the tenth and final Maha Avatara (great incarnation) of Vishnu who will come to end the present age of darkness and destruction known as Kali Yuga. The name Kalki is often a metaphor for eternity or time. The origins of the name probably lie in the Sanskrit word "kalka" which refers to dirt, filth, or foulness and hence denotes the "destroyer of foulness," "destroyer of confusion," "destroyer of darkness," or "annihilator of ignorance."[1] Other similar and divergent interpretations based on varying etymological derivations from Sanskrit - including one simply meaning "White Horse" - have been made.[2]

The Vishnu Purana also explains that, "When the practices taught in the Vedas and institutes of law have nearly ceased, and the close of the Kali age shall be nigh, a portion of that divine being who exists of His own spiritual nature, and who is the beginning and end, and who comprehends all things, shall descend upon earth. He will be born in the family of Vishnuyasha, an eminent brahmana of Shambhala village, as Kalki, endowed with eight superhuman faculties. By His irresistible might he will destroy all the mlecchas and thieves, and all whose minds are devoted to iniquity. He will reestablish righteousness upon earth, and the minds of those who live at the end of the Kali age shall be awakened, and shall be as clear as crystal. The men who are thus changed by virtue of that peculiar time shall be as the seeds of human beings, and shall give birth to a race who will follow the laws of the Krita age or Satya Yuga, the age of purity. As it is said, 'When the sun and moon, and the lunar asterism Tishya, and the planet Jupiter, are in one mansion, the Krita age shall return.'" (Book Four, Chapter 24)

The Padma Purana relates that Lord Kalki will end the age of Kali and will kill all the wicked mlecchas and, thus, destroy the bad condition of the world. He will gather all of the distinguished brahmanas and will propound the highest truth. He will know all the ways of life that have perished and will remove the prolonged hunger of the genuine brahmanas and the pious. He will be the only ruler of the world that cannot be controlled, and will be the banner of victory and adorable to the world. (6.71.279-282)
The Bhagavata Purana states, "At the end of Kali Yuga, when there exist no topics on the subject of God, even at the residences of so-called saints and respectable gentlemen of the three higher castes, and when the power of government is transferred to the hands of ministers elected from the lowborn shudra class or those less than them, and when nothing is known of the techniques of sacrifice, even by word, at that time the Lord will appear as the supreme chastiser. (2.7.38) It further describes Lord Kalki's activities as follows: "Lord Kalki, the Lord of the universe, will mount His swift white horse Devadatta and, sword in hand, travel over the earth exhibiting His eight mystic opulences and eight special qualities of Godhead. Displaying His unequaled effulgence and riding with great speed, He will kill by the millions those thieves who have dared dress as kings." (12.2.19-20)

eselam, i request you to verify before you do copy paste, should have min knowledge regarding copy pasted content, each time you did copy paste you have fallen in trouble and proven those all were rubbish. Only paste those which you can answer us. Your copy pasting tendency already resulted in time waste and effort seriously.

It is found that the source of your content is from some unreliable islamic website and there are no supporting verses from vedas along with these, so we have no other choice but to reject your claim.

Which religion offers the right path to God?
What I feel is summed up in both the Rig Veda and Guru Granth Sahib.

Truth is One, Sages call it by many names
- Rig Veda Samhita 1.164.46

ਕੋਈ ਬੋਲੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਕੋਈ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥
Some call Him, 'Raam, Raam', and some call Him, 'Khudaa-i'.
ਕੋਈ ਸੇਵੈ ਗੁਸਈਆ ਕੋਈ ਅਲਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
Some serve Him as 'Gusain', others as 'Allaah'. ||1||
ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ਕਰੀਮ ॥
He is the Cause of causes, the Generous Lord.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹੀਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
He showers His Grace and Mercy upon us. ||1||Pause||
- Guru Granth Sahib, 885

Basically, I don't believe that religion is a case of true or false, but I believe every religion is 'right', and all religions offer the right path to God - it all depends on what you are attracted to. Religion is not a one-size-fits-all. Some people are more interested in ascesticism, others are more interested in being homemakers, others are more interested in actions to helping humanity, others prefer a life worship.

All religions are human attempts at connecting to, and explaining, the Ultimate Source, whatever one calls it (I'm not after a debate about Buddhism and Jainism here) - and living morally. Since all theistic religions believe that God is indescribable, how can God be described, His existence penned, His Will explained? How can God be confined to just -one- religion? It makes no sense to me to believe that God, the Creator of the world, would bring his (successful) messengers into only one area.

Isn't it interesting how religions that are near to one another tend to have similar things in common? For example, Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all monotheistic religions and exclusive in their view of God, and (mainstream anyway) don't believe in reincarnation. In the East, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism all have dharma and reincarnation, and an inclusive view of religions. Religions in Europe were polytheistic prior to Christianization, the Romans and Greeks had very personal human gods. Why would this be? Because these religions are close to one another, and things are borrowed from each other.

In my view, it's a case of the blind men and the elephant. Each one touches only one part, and they compare notes to what they felt, and their views are different from one anothers, because none of them have the whole explanation of the elephant. It's the same with my view of God. Many colours, but the same spectrum. All religions have aspects of Truth, and all religions have aspects of falsehood and man-made traditions in them, they have all made one aspect less important and made another more important.

No religion is ultimately 'pure' nor 'superior' to another one, because all religions were revealed by mankind, and mankind has been responsible for spreading and raising them, as well as coming up with new philosophies such as "is blood transfusion allowed?", for example.

Just my $0.02 on this one. :)

(I know it's untidy (sorry!) but I've just wrote it all in one go. :D You'd hate to be in this head, eh? It's all cluttered!)

What is meant by "path to God"? What does it mean to have a path to God? Does that mean you are going to take this path to get to God? What good does it do a person to have a "path to God." Should we not be more focused on pleasing God by doing that which He desires of us?

Path to God means a way to know Him, to discover Him truly. Perhaps it is God's desire that we should seek Him and that we should want to Know Him.

First no one can prove the existence of God,then how can u prove the existence of exclusionary paths? How can religion be institutionalized?

Moreover,i dont need a religion that tells me how much sugar to put in coffee.

What about Krishnamurti's idea that "Truth is a pathless land" and there are no paths to god. Any truth to that?

Friend Sunstone,

To put things in its perspective here; each individual is in a different time, space, emotional, intellectual what have you zone. Some through understanding realises the situation to merge with the whole by connecting with points immediately outside his own grid for each criteria, others are so set in his own space like the polar ice caps that it needs a global warming to allow them forcibly to open up and merge.

Meditate on it.

so from what i've read here, the article i posted is actually wrong and has missinterpreted some perspectives of a possible reincarnate that is to come. is that right?

Mr K.Venugopal and myself are having a discussion about which religion has the right path to God and what is it about that particular religion that makes it true or sets it appart from the rest. (i think thats what we are discussing )
Discussion we were having but I do not think I was discussing "which religion has the right path to God" because I believe there are many paths to God and it is up to the “treaders” upon the different paths to conclude whether the path they are traversing is productive or not. I was only questioning certain assumptions made in the light of my own understanding.

Well, the article you posted is different to the ideas that I have been presented with through Hinduism. I'd be interested in knowing where the author got his information from. It would be strange if he just decided to lie about things.
