Which Would be More Truthful?

Neither party has good policy as well.
Not true.

What is the main policy of democrats that you take most offense with?

Both parties aren't the same, not even close. One party represents the elitists, the other represents the middle class.

You're not voting for the candidate, you're voting for the policies of the party.
We vote for both. Like Modi and the Hindu party, BJP. Like Nitish Kumar in Bihar. Faith engendered by past record that he is honest. Voting for the Nehru-Gandhi heir, presently the Vice-President in the Congress party will be absolute foolishness. So, Indians have not done it.

Evil (the GOP), triumphed over incompetence (Dems). sigh.
And vice versa!

One won, & one lost.
Two sides of the same coin.

Note:
To those posters licking their chops for the next opportunity to cry "False equivalency!",
I suggest that you consider it possible to see both as exhibiting evil & incompetence.
I don't say it's equal. I don't say who is worse.
But do not use that tired faux fallacy to deny that your side has its faults too.

It strikes me that the Dems value a well educated, financially secure middle class. They are terrible at implementing this vision, but it's a healthy vision. The GOP on the other hand, views the planet and the population as infinity pillage-able. Their's is a greedy vision.

You really believe this?

Ah, @Sunstone, you tricky devil. You have posed a political Koan that has no right answer, and no wrong answer. Next you'll play us a recording of one hand clapping.

Fortunately most voters had a more realistic and adult perception of the world.

I would (sincerely), like to hear how your perspective differs.

I will say this however, my feelings about this particular election are a bit different than my feelings about the two parties in general. I DO believe that most congressmen and senators are corrupt, and my sense is that a lot of people who voted for trump were really voting against Washington.

Which would be more accurate and truthful: To say that Clinton lost the presidential election, or to say that Trump won it?

Put differently, was the presidency Clinton's to lose, and she actually defeated herself by one means or another?

I think there are several reasons the election turned out as it did, but that -- for the most part -- it would be more accurate to say Clinton lost the election than to say Trump won it.
I would tend to agree. She certainly has proven to be quite adept at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Mostly, the latter, imo. Trump tapped into sentiments that many millions of Americans had, and he sold "The
Art of the Deal" to them, telling them what they wanted to hear. Now the reality has set in for many that now realize that he duped them, but he still has his following that, like he said, he could shoot someone between the eyes and they'd still support him.

It's rather extreme....this black & white view of a war between good & evil.
Reality looks far messier to me (one of those moral relativists).

Wait! You mean to say I didn't thoroughly capture the nuances of the U.S.'s two party system in one sentence?

More seriously. It seems to me that you can almost always predict the GOP stance on an issue as being pro-profit and everything else be damned. I'd like to hear of important exceptions to this rule?

Both parties aren't the same, not even close. One party represents the elitists, the other represents the middle class.
And as long as the Democrats stick with the elitists, they will continue to lose.
