Who are the People of God?

IndigoChild5559

Loving God and my neighbor as myself.
I believe you are from the people of God when you obey God's law.
God's law is defined in the 66 books of the Bible, nowhere else.
If you obey God's law you will live forever.
66 books? So, only the Protestant Bible?

So which laws in that Bible? There are 613 laws just in the first five books. All of them? Or do you pick and choose?

Loving God and my neighbor as myself.
The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew, with some parts in Aramaic.
The New Testament was originally written in Greek.
I cannot speak Hebrew or Greek.
I can only understand by the Spirit of God.
Are you saying that the Spirit of God is miraculously enabling you to read the texts in Hebrew and Greek?

You preach about keeping God's Law, but do you keep it? Before you answer, remember James 2:10, which states, "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." And 1 John 2:4, which states, "Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person." So now the question becomes: Do you dishonor your God by breaking his law? If you fail to keep God's Law, then shouldn't you be more concerned about the plank in your own eye than the speck of dust in someone else's eye? Since you are a Christian, then I'm sure you are familiar with Galatians 5:4, which clearly states, "You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace." Surely, as a Christian, you are also familiar with the following scriptures. Do you agree or disagree with these scriptures? What do you think?

John 1:17, "For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ,"

Romans 6:14, "For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace."

Romans 10:4, "Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes."

Galatians 2:15-16, "We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in[a] Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified." Finally, Galatians 3:11 states, "Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith."

According to Galatians 2:15-16 and Galatians 3:11 (and other scriptures), neither you nor anyone else is justified by keeping God's Law. Finally, there are 613 commandments in the Old Testament Law (God's Law). Surely you're not suggesting that people obey all of these commandments at once.
I'm glad that as a Jew HaShem will forgive my imperfections. It must really suck for Christians that even one single mistake is enough for hellfire.

Obey God's Law is my Goal
God's law is defined in the 66 books of the Bible,
I agree
nowhere else.
Aha, this is in debate Forum
My reply can be short: Prove it

Note
: Of course you can't use the Bible to prove that ONLY the Bible defines God's Law, that's a no-brainer, I assume you agree with, right?

Because, obviously, that would be kind of cheating, like "1+1=2, because my Teacher told me". That means you believe it's 2, you don't know for sure. That's what I call "borrowed knowledge" versus "true knowledge"

I believe your beliefs don't necessarily reflect the OP's belief, but to answer your personal belief the souls of all people live forever anyway according to my understanding so irrelevant whether they obey gods alleged law
According to my beliefs it is not irrelevant whether they follow God's laws or not. Not following God's laws leads to separation from God both in this life and in the next life. So it is only irrelevant of a person doesn't care about being separated from God. Howevver sin can be forgiven if one develops spiritual qualities so one can still be close to God, whatever that means. I have never really figured out what Baha'is mean by 'close to God.'

In the Baháʼí Faith, sin is defined as disobedience to God and the separation from God that results. Some examples of sins include: Anger, Jealousy, Hypocrisy, Prejudice, and Breaking Baháʼí laws.

The Baháʼí Faith also teaches that God will forgive sins if a person repents. Baháʼís believe that people can get closer to God by developing spiritual qualities.

According to my beliefs both God and Jesus can both forgive sins, so one single mistake certainly does not lead to hellfire.

“It is also recorded in the Gospel according to St. Luke, that on a certain day Jesus passed by a Jew who was sick of the palsy, and lay upon a couch. When the Jew saw Him, he recognized Him, and cried out for His help. Jesus said unto him: “Arise from thy bed; thy sins are forgiven thee.” Certain of the Jews, standing by, protested saying: “Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” And immediately He perceived their thoughts, Jesus answering said unto them: “Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, arise, and take up thy bed, and walk; or to say, thy sins are forgiven thee? that ye may know that the Son of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins.” 7 This is the real sovereignty, and such is the power of God’s chosen Ones!”
(The Kitáb-i-Íqán, pp. 133-134)

According to Jesus, there is only one sin that is unforgivable.

Matthew 12
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

The Holy Ghost is the Holy Spirit. According to Baha’i beliefs, the Holy Spirit is the Bounty of God. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is detestation of the Bounty of God, the divine perfections. In a sense then it is detestation of God since one hates the divine perfections (God’s qualities).

Speaking out against Jesus can be forgiven for the following reason: Jesus was like a lamp that reflected God’s qualities. It is forgivable to hate the lamp, because one might not recognize that the lamp is from God, if they don't see the divine qualities of God reflected in the lamp. What is unforgivable is to hate the lamp itself.

And you have every right to your opinion. But I will take exception when you impose those opinions as truths onto me or anyone else.

You're entitled to your "truths." But never assume that your truths are the truths of another.
My truth is about my Islam believe.
Probably our common truth that we are created, so there are Creator.
In my religion our Creator will judge us.
Definitely there are only one truth in the end. We all know after death

Ah, yes. Pascal's wager. While I'd love to play, I don't share your Abrahamic mindset.

Living requires being alive. The life of this body/mind complex ends when the body/mind expires. While I am eternal, I don't live forever.
Unfortunately it's not up to you to choose live forever or not.

Same as you said I don't want sleep, i want stay awake all time.

I'm not Muslim. And again, you're projecting your beliefs onto me. Please stop doing that. I have never projected my views upon you. I respect your right to your own beliefs, and I would appreciate that respect in return.

So eternal life is physiological then?

Are you claiming that there are no Christians who have sex out of wedlock?
I for one know that there are quite a few of them, since every Christian who has messaged me on a dating site expects sex out of wedlock.

It's even more difficult to be "perfect" since Christians tightened up the rules to include "thought crimes" like lustful thoughts.
