I think of Lucifer (that is, the figure born from medieval and post-medieval Christian mythology) as one of the Friends of Humanity; a Promethean figure.

Lucifer is just a name, just as Jesus, or whatever god-man you follow, he is the other side of the same coin.

I call him Lucifer since that is his name. I don't really like calling him Satan since the christians gave him that name because they think of him as someone evil. I have gotten in debates with christians on google plus that they got pissed at me because I kept calling him Lucifer. They said that the name Lucifer isn't his name anymore.

"Lucifer" has never been His name, unless you are referring to a minor Greco Roman deity, which you are not.

In fact, "Lucifer", in the King James version of the Bible refers to a human king, not a fallen malach. While I am still uncertain if Isaiah is referencing a spirit behind the King or not, it is clear the term "Lucifer" is just a title. It refers to Venus, The Morning Star.

We all have different views on who Lucifer is.

And how so?
Because "Lucifer" is mentioned only once and in only one translation of the Bible, two if you count the new version. The King James and New King James Version. The term, "Haylel" is generally translated "Day Star" or "Morning Star". In both, "Lucifer" is a title, and applied to a human king.

Some people believe the Beelzebub is Lucifer but I believe they are different beings.

Here, read this.

Lucifer is literally nothing. It is a metaphor of criticism directed to the king of Babylon in Isaiah. Jesus himself is often referred to as that, and there are like 2-3 "Saint Lucifer of Wherever".

If I were to say, "the light bringer in Latin" it would be "lucifer" the word is still used in in catholic masses. Usually as, "luciferi" though.

Also, in Latin there is the problem... Lucifer as an adjective applied to Venus rising in the dawn. Lucifer as a noun applied to the light cast from the moon. :p That meaning is largely lost on modern folks, but a quick study of Latin would reveal that.

Generally, the Christian understanding of the word Lucifer is not authentic. It is borrowed from Dante's Inferno, etc... It's a revision of the history, and basically inaccurate...

Phosphorus and Lucifer are related, regardless of biblical connotations.

Basically, outside of Greco-Roman revival paganism Lucifer is a phantom outside of a daemon in historical ceremonial magic text.

I kinda do disagree that "Lucifer" is a "title". We all have our own opinions. Just saying.
