Who is the true church?

StewpidLoser - The problem wasn't that you were asking for information. It's just that you were asking for the complex stuff without having a specific base knowledge from which to judge that. It's like trying to explain calculus to somebody who doesn't know algebra. It just doesn't work. In the same light, nobody would understand or be able to appreciate the sacredness of temple ordinances without first understanding and accepting certain things like the restoration of the gospel through Joseph Smith or the plan of salvation, or exhaltation. You're not asking the wrong questions. You're just asking them at the wrong time, before you have built up that base knowledge which is infinitely important to have before you can understand or appreciate the temple ordinances.

The other option is asking those who know the answers. Which I have done.
No, the other option is to come to knowledge the same way I did -- a little bit at a time, and at the appropriate time. Any time you want to discuss my faith, there are dozens of topics I would be willing to talk to you about.

I'm not criticizing you. If you want to take it that way, that's up to you. As I said - I am (was) simply asking questions about some of your beliefs for my own education. Since you are unwillinging to educate me, I'll just stop asking. No big deal. Seems to me that to stop asking IS respecting your beliefs. Again, if you take that as criticism... well.... all I can say is sorry for my crappy communication skills.
You may not be criticizing me, but what you have done is pose a threat. You have essentially said: "Either break the promise you made to God or I will go to anti-Mormon websites to get my information." I'm sorry, but my integrity is important to me. I'm not going to sacrifice it just to satisfy your curiousity.

Like I keep saying, I'm respecting your wish not to tell me this stuff.
Like I keep saying, I am in no way offended by this.

Sure I'm stubborn... apparently so are you.... Again, you should try not being so offended that I am willing to concede that my questions will not be answered. That's OK. I'm not offended by it. I'm not upset. I'm not trying to be disrespectful. What I don't understand is why you guys are getting so upset about my willingness to drop the discussion? I also don't understand why my saying I'm not going to ask about it any more has you guys saying I'm being critical of you and assuming I am offended?

Try taking what I am saying at face value ~ I AM NOT, IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, OFFENDED. I RESPECT YOUR WISH NOT TO TALK ABOUT STUFF YOU DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT! Is there any way I can make it any more plain than that?

It's just important to understand why we won't talk about it. It's not because we don't like you, or because we think if we do you'll laugh at us and call us names. As long as that's clear, I'm just as willing to drop it as you are. :D

Katzpur ~ You didn't like me before I left and now that I'm back it's obvious you still hold that grudge. it seems that because of this, you assume that I am offended by you and your church. Well I'm not. As I said before... I'm here to learn. The only way I know to do that is to read what's been posted and ask questions if the answer has not already been posted or if I missed a post about whatever it is I'm seeking knowledge about.

You seem to think that because I ask questions about your beliefs or disagree or challenge your beliefs that I'm being disrespectful. In effect what you are doing is once again discouraging my participation in this forum. If that is your intent, it will probably work. I don't need the personal attacks and the associated stress in my already stressful existance.

That's fine. I think you have explained it.

I realize that. I don't get it that you guys think this offends me, though.

OK. But from the PM's and posts I'm reading, you are in the minority.

How do you know how she feels? Don't assume anything. She is simply saying what she can and can't say. You are taking it personally. She isn't attacking you.

Practice what you preach - don't assume you know how I feel or how I'm taking it.

Wow. amazing how trying to concede a discussion caused offense to so many. I didn't intend that.
I realize my communication skills suck and often things come across in ways they were not intended. Makes me realize once again how appropriate my user name is

Well, okay then. Thanks for your willingness to come to us with your questions, though.

Who is the true church? those doing the will of God

"Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness matthew 7;21

(Romans 2:13) For the hearers of law are not the ones righteous before God, but the doers of law will be declared righteous.

(Luke 13:27) But he will speak and say to you, ‘I do not know where YOU are from. Get away from me, all YOU workers of unrighteousness............. so then it seems that to be regarded as the true church they would have to be faithful to God and be doing his will ,and not their own will, because if they make up their own rules he would not listen to them in fact he would not want to know them at all .

Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever .... 1 john 2;17

"Religion that is pure and genuine in the sight of God the Father will show itself by such things as . . . keeping oneself uncontaminated by the world."—JAMES 1:27, Phillips

Now we are getting somewhere..............

Great post.

Now I wonder how long it will take for someone to come along and try to say that we don't have to do the Law anymore because YAHshua did away with them all? Even though that is one of the biggest lie's that has been blurted out all over the earth.

Personally, at this point in my spiritual journey, I don't think that any church is a 100% representation (I hope I spelled that right) of God. Abraham and Moses didn't have a church. They didn't need one because they had a personal relationship with God. I think all you really need is that relationship and His word. Not human inerpretations and views. Church is a man made thing, and we all know that man is prone to error.

Hi, Mister T.

So from what infallible source do you get His word? Regardless of which version of the Bible you may use, it was translated by man and, as you have pointed out, man is prone to error.

Well I really can't tell people what regious book to follow. That's something a person has to figure out for themselves. I follow the Holy Bible (I guess you would call it the Christian doctrine) because out of all the "Bibles" I've researched, that one has been proven the most historically accurate. I follow the facts and the facts point there. But that's a complete other topic. I can't say with 100% certainty that my Bible is supreme and that everyone elses is not. Nobody should say that. No human knows the entire workings of the Universe and if somebody does, they have yet to present that evidence to me.

To do the Will of God you must know what the Will of God is.

All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

if its based on an accurate knowledge of Gods word , it would be inline with the will of God
