Hebrew 9:14 How much more shall the Blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, PURGE your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

Its Christ that cleanses our Minds to serve him. Its the spirit that does the works.

The carnal mind is enmity with God and in another place it tells us to seek those things above where Christ is which are able to save our Souls.

The carnal mind, minds earthly things and are not concerned with the things of God. So we must have Conversion to do the will of God. A new heart.

We dont choose this but Christ Himself draws us, just as he said: If I be lifted up I will Draw all men to myself. But not all have believed.

This is the New Birth. To be born of the spirit. Its not figurative. Conversion is a very real thing. Whithout the shedding of blood ( the sprinkling) our conscience cannot be cleansed from dead works.

thats why I asked you if you had died. Have you shed your blood?

Jesus did this for us. This is the whole foundation of Christianity.

Heb 9:22 and almost all things are by the law purged with the Blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

Col 3:3 For you died and your life is now hidden with christ in God.

eph 2:3 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were so far away have been brought near through the Blood of Christ.

We're not purged with our own Blood.

right, so you havnt physically died, yet the scriptures say that we must die in some way to be united with Christ. Romans 8:13 ...but if YOU put the practices of the body to death by the spirit, YOU will live.

So it has to be a figurative death we experience because as you said, Christ died on our behalf. And that figurative death is the death of the our former course of conduct which was in accord with the sins of the flesh.

In 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Paul says: “What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean, but you have been sanctified, but you have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.”

One thing we have in common, We both want to inherit eternal life. Eternal life is not Figurative and neither is Conversion. I don't say this based only on what I've read, but now because of the Spirit of God in me, indicating these things.

Those led by the spirit are the Children. Hope things work out for you,

on that I agree, Eternal life is not figurative....it will be experienced in a literal physical earthly paradise.

We believe in a Triune God.
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.
One God but eternally existing in three manifestations. It is a mystery that we as humans can never fully understand this side of eternity. We worship One God who has shown himself to us in three manifestations.

That is who Jesus is :)

Not all of us believe this. Unitarians, (one God, not three), don't believe the trinity means a Godhead.

Jesus is many things to many people. There is no one answer.
