Who was Jesus?

Apparently, no available archaeological evidence supports the idea that Nazareth existed before the 2nd century C.E.

Yes, that is the case, and further, that 'Jesus the Nazarene' did not refer to his being a citizen of the town of Nazareth, but rather to the fact that he was a member of the Jewish mystical sect of Essenes called 'Nazarenes', referring to Paul as reported in the Bible:

For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes

Acts 24:5

Yes he was a myth, but its not Jesus who is important, its the message and what it points to, that is if you can see through all the garbage that has been added to it.

Garbage, such as blood sacrifice for sin redemption, virgin birth, and bodily resurrection, mostly taken from pagan Mithraism, and overwritten onto the genuine teachings of Yeshua the Nazarene.

All history is dated from him
Currently. Many nations usually dated using monarchy reigns or dynasties or such things. When someone new comes along that influences the powerful, we'll pick something else to go by.
There are quite a few extra-biblical sources that mention Christ and Christians (see footnotes for examples)
So, this is proof that Jesus is God, but not that Christians were just a bunch of religious, superstitious terrorists, as those authors claim?

Proof works both ways ...

Yes however there was no CNN or MSNBC (thank you God) back then either!
It's arguable that the bible reads like it's been written by Fox News.
