Women didn't have rights back in those days, something we should all keep in mind. If Jesus had been born in this day and age instead of back then (according to my faith), it might have been different, and he probably would have had female apostles, too. Jesus would have had to have been male 2,000 years ago, since no one would have listened to a woman even as few as 100 years ago, much less 2,000Not sure about all that.
"Our father in heaven"
Jesus was male and a deity by your accounts, and not just a 1/3 of god the father.
and he probably would have had female apostles,
It's backward because it goes against what we plainly observe in nature - that all life comes from the female, including the male.
I bow down to ALL men, don't all women?
Every time I see a man, I run up and bow before him. lol
Well, that's a coincidence since, as I worship Devi, I worship women as Her foremost manifestation.I bow down to ALL men, don't all women?

My idea of a god has no gender. But, since most religions stemmed from misogynists, it's not that outrageous to see why God would be considered male.
Because the Biblical narrative makes no sense.G-d is self created. The creation process is not necessarily exactly what one might observe casually. You are ascribing your own understanding of things, then putting it into the context of a creation story that you don't believe in. Your criticism is based from a personal standpoint, though, it follows a personal understanding etc.,but....this is not applicable to the Biblical narrative.
In my sampradaya God is male, female, and neither.
I assume when Constantine took over and made Christianity the government's main faith and since he was in power, he made "God" a He.
.
Yes that's what its all about, its what it means to you personally, and we all should have a personal relationship with God, whatever god means to you, not what second hand books tell you, that is my way of seeing God.God created man in His image. I would rather serve a masculine God anyway. Even though I am a woman, I prefer a masculine God. A feminine god is repulsive.
Jesus is my Husband.
To those who worship a male supreme deity - why? What leads you to conclude that the Supreme Being is male or otherwise masculine? How do you arrive at the idea that the Creator is male? I don't see this in nature. It is the female who brings forth life in nature. The male's contribution is somewhat of an afterthought. Even fetuses start out female and only develop into males when the Y chromosome is introduced. The Bible, for instance, has this backward and has the woman being born from the male, as an afterthought when Adam couldn't find a suitable companion among the animals. How does this make any sense?
Is it only because your holy book presents your deity in masculine terms? Or did you come to this conclusion by yourself? Male supreme deities seem to be rather late in humanity's religious history, after all.
Well, that's a coincidence since, as I worship Devi, I worship women as Her foremost manifestation.
I see Jehovah as both masculine and feminine. But masculine is his most dominant quality. Thats why he is refereed to as a 'he' and not a 'she'
Feminine is not merely about giving birth. Feminine is submissive and God does not express himself in submissive way (unlike Jesus who does express himself as being in submission for example)....he is one who takes the lead in action and in directing others because he is first and foremost, masculine.
Haha. You can first "like" it and then fool them and press unlike.there needs to be an UNLIKE feature

Well, I believe that Divinity is transcendent and immanent so there's a reconciliation of the views. In mine, God is portrayed as male, female, or neither, but anyone 'in the know' knows it's actually neither. I assume that beyond time, form and space also means beyond gender.
