There is no history of straight persecution literally anywhere on this planet. Meanwhile, even in countries where being LGBTQ is legal and at least nominally accepted, LGBTQ people still face more or less open discrimination in many areas of their lives - to say nothing of the many countries where being openly LGBTQ is considered a crime with penalties ranging from imprisonment to execution!

The Gay Pride marches started as Gay Liberation marches a commemoration of the Stonewall riots, the first time in US history when a group of gay men resisted homophobic police violence, and as a protest against the discrimination of LGBTQ people in the US. In the 1980s and 1990s, these protests for Gay Liberation were changes to become less political, and more of a cultural phenomenon for the LGBTQ community as a whole (though they would continue to commemorate Stonewall to this day) and with this depolitization and deradicalization of the movement, the LGBT Pride marches we know today were born.

Please for the sake of your own god start actually learning about the history of LGBT persecution before you make these shockingly ignorant and bigoted statements.
