Vanakkam,

Because all individual have ultimately the choice to eat what they want, and even if it's common ground to avoir eating the flesh of the cow, all hindus aren't vegetarian. They eat fish, pork, chicken etc... Also.

Some hindus are veg, some are non veg, some don't care.

Because Shirdi sai baba wasn't veg his devotees aren't forced to eat non veg food. Where did Sai baba said that his devotee have to eat non veg ?

He did not say that but if you are trying to worship a saint or in some cases they claim he was a god, most people aspire to be like them as much as you can. Some believe he is an incarnation of shiv, so I am not clear why his meat eating gets a pass from people.

Also did he not smoke tobacco? How can a man be revered as god if this was the case? Another New Age Religion?

Baba had in His store only two Handis (large cooking vessels made of copper) – one sufficient for 50 and another for 100 people. Baba used the same Handis for cooking food for Hindus as well as Muslims.

In Adhyay 38 of Shri Sai Sat Charita, there is a long list of various dishes that were cooked by Baba. He lit an earthen stove and cooked Mutton, Khichdi or Mithe Chawal (sweet rice). He also cooked Hindu dishes. He Himself ground grains of Daal (pulses), wheat and Jondhalas (jowar). He prepared Bhakris from the flour. He soaked Daal in water, ground it, added condiments and made ‘Watli Daal’. He kneaded balls of Kanik (wheat flour) and made very wide Polis (bread). He even fermented Ambil in the Handis.

Those who ate meat were served non-vegetarian food. But, He never forced others to do so. However, Baba did make attempts to see whether the vegetarians were steadfast at staying away from meat.

Tatya Patil has noted down in his experience that, ‘‘During His first 40 years in Shirdi, Baba never ate meat.’’ However, in the later period, it is observed that Baba broke this rule – at least to some extent. May be it was in an attempt to bring Hindus and Muslims together or to keep His own religion a secret ? Baba always preached, ‘‘Don’t abstain from food. But, be regular in your habits.’’ He ate all the food articles brought by Hindu devotees with relish.

Baba helped several Muslims to progress in their Adhyatmik journey. Several Rohilas came to Him and – under His umbrage – stayed in Shirdi. Baba served the food to them. This has been noted in Shri Sai Sat Charita as well as in Diary of Shri Khaparde.

But his followers are, the food at the temples now only serve vegetarian and many of his teaching are then contradict.

My whole family follow and all eat non-veg except for beef. I'm not sure that his teachings are contradictions but rather your statements.

Vanakkam,

The REAL question is why should I even bother that people worship what they want, what inspire them ?

WHY do you even care about others people life ? Let them worship what they want, like you worship what you want :sarcastic

Pranam,

Dear thread owner, can you give us support of your claim ?

All hindus know that eating non-veg is a sin. If man eats non-veg, after his death he goes into hell wherein he gets forced by hell agents to eat meat of dog or his own flesh. This is according to bhagavata purana

Hari Hari Narayan.

Just see the link that sb1995 posted. It explains that sai baba eat. I don't think the hindus here support your claims that all hindus eat meat go to hell. I know beef eating hindus and only seafood eating hindus so it doesn't matter to me but I am trying to understand this human worship religion so that's why I am asking.

Not all Hindu-s consider the bhAgavatapurANam as authoritative, mainly only vaiShNava-s. Also, I thought it said that the punishment was to be attacked with the horns of those animals which were killed after one's death, that's why nAradamuni tells rAjA prAchInabarhiShat "ete tvAM sampratIkShante smaranto vaishasaM tava samparetam ayaHkUTaish ChindantyutthitamanyavaH."

But who said he was god ? He might be a muslim.

BTW, I have real photo of sai baba taken with his associates. I have seen him.
They're talking about shirDI sai bAbA, not satya sai bAbA. The former died in 1918, and you look way too young to have been alive during that time (in this sharIra, at least, :p).

He is considered a god by many people. There are hundreds of religions that have different gods. You and I may not believe them but anything or anyone can be considered "god" if a single person chooses to call it that.

I know Satya Sai Baba was asked if He was God and He replied: You are God. The difference is I realize who I am.

This is advaitan philosophy. We are just caught in the illusion (Maya) of separateness. Avatars experience without illusion.

You want to make scandals out of everything you can find that some misconstrue like sharing meat with Muslims or Oneness with God. It appears you are not interested in anything positive. You are always mute when I ask what positive spiritual things you have to tell us.

Actually I learned quickly to ignore you but I posted this for support of others.

I think one who is truly Enlightened realizes that nothing dies, nothing is born, as long as we are still ignorant we believe we can die, animals included, so to those who are truly Enlightened it doesn't matter what they do.

So then does his philosophy and his teachings, reflect those of meat eating or vegetarianism? And then why are so many of his followers vegetarian? (hindu)

Why does his teachings have to deal with diet and what we eat? There are much more important issues in my opinion. Why cant his Hindu followers be vegetarian and his muslim followers (if any) eat meat? Clearly what you eat (as long as it isn't cow) isn't that significant.
